I have a friend from Vcoh who's trying to fathom brits for EIRR. I don't really play much anymore, or seriously, but I figured I'd be nice and post a thread for him that others could benefit from. What is generally the non-doctrinal strat for brits in EIRR? What are winning or decent strategies for brits to focus on without relying heavily on new units or doctrine abilities?

Brens and 17 pounders if you go RE
Everything else is brens and 6 pounders.

Bren button and paits work well together against those damn light vehicles, if you don't take a light vehicle.

Light vehicles are a strong point for the brits. To make up for the brits lack of Elite Infantry, there light vehicles will decimate Axis Elite squads. I'd recommend the Stag hound with a .50 cal.

If you don't go light vehicles then grab a few Cromwell. Great all round Vehicle, even better with the t3 RCA buffs.

Rifle nades and HMG's also work well together, you can suppress enemy, then let you Tommie squad sit there lobbing nades at them. They don't even have to take damage if there behinds building the HMG is in! Mix up the rifle nades and bren guns. Both are very much needed throughout the game.

If you go commandos it gives great bonuses to infantry, Commandos and light vehicles.

commandos - spam stags (at least 7) with ccts (all other fuel for ccts and 1 firefly) spam a bunch of commandos with grenades and piats to support them (at least 8 squads) 3 at guns

if you don't like vehicles then spam sten commandos and fireflies (at least 3 fireflies) with that demolition T2 decrew and blow up 1 ATG and squad paid for itsself
additional you can spam democharges (but less stens) for the lolz with big blast radius
if you blob sten commandos don't forget the commando officer (it give insane buffs)
all commando stuff preferable with red devils or if you use much commando smoke middle T4

profit (can be done with 0 games company)

RE - spam churchill mk6 or 3 churchill crocs

RCA spam double T3 buffed cromwells and later on go marksmen T4 and spam bren tommies

Bren button and PIATs

This pretty much sums every single British coy. Button + piats/Atg = win. add in Ltd for LOL effect. Few Staghounds if you want to be even cruel. British are such a easy mode due to Button and PIATs :d

well if your going non doctrinal your guys are going to die like flies when things get rough build for attrition then

for example i have 5 croms a cct 2x recons in bren 2 mgs with rifle nades and 2x 2 bren guns this +a mortar and 4 -5 6qs helps win in an  attrition battle but everything needs to be used to the max of its worth to pay back the costs

if im honest brits arent the best place to start new to eirr

btw how can you get 6 croms?

6 croms, dual t3's with RCA, 5 bren squads, 4 atg's = instant win

Yeah calbanes, I mean - some people like smokaz are still yet to win a single game, even though they've been around here for years.

IMO a good balanced non-doctrinal Brit company would look something like this in its core:
(New companies are best off getting 1 resource advantage in MP, Mun and F to start with, they should then later specialise in either Mun or F)

Starting call in:
Piat sappers (possibly with mines), 6 Pounder, Bren Tommies, Staghound, MG or captain (FOO)

Anti-tank
3x Piat Sappers + 6 Pounder call ins (Consider mines on the sappers as well)
1x 6 Pounder + Bren call in

Infantry
4x Double tommy call in (or mixed up with Tommy + LT call-ins, some Brens and riflenades)

Armour
1x Firefly
3x Cromwell (Flank speeeed) or 2 Cromwells and 1 CCT

Support
1x Mortar + Tommy

Just as a general outlook, doesn't really matter what you spend the remaining resources on. It's a balanced and generally successful build. (Not the most thrilling set-up, but for new players it will provide a sense of comfort as it's not too difficult to manage). I'd recommend just playing cautious with it, especially as a new player, these type of builds allow you to just sit back and play defensively. In that sense CW is also a lot more forgiving and recommended than US.

Strat - Use a good amount of riflenades and piats. and MMG carriers. And have atleast 2 fireflies, with a stag.

For AI Defencive- Use a .30/MMG carrier combined with riflenades tommies. If things get too hot and your surpression units die pop smoke.

This is VERY important.

For AI Offencive- Now its even more important to use smoke! Smoke the area defined and move riflenades in to bombared them. This can have bad results if not enough smoke vs. MG42's in buildings. If 1 man is outside the smoke coverage you might get surpressed. The best counter is simply using a mortar.

When going against LMG grens and the stuff like that just smoke, and bombard them with riflenades from afar.

When going against assault troops, attempt to lure them into your suppression weapons, because your pretty much fucked here. Riflenades cant shoot when the enemy is that close and you will just get slaughtered without doctrinal units to help.

Use stags to pick of enemy troops and flank stuff.

For AT- Use piats, and try to have atleast 2 of them equiped with mines, Mines are one of the most cost efficient weapons in the game. Make sure to plant them in good spots like flanks and chokepoints.

For heavier AT use fireflies. Try to have 1 CCT as they really do help in reload alot. Always stay at long range.

If the tanks get close use MMG carriers to button
_____________________________

That pretty much sums up this strat, it can work but you will be greatful to have doctrinal units to support, the best supporting this is flamesappers, but you sacerfice AT to buy that AI on the sappers.

The weaknesses of this strat is -
Beat by KCH spam, tommies get raped at close range, smoke is there to help but its not enough, and with the 50% suppression resistance that KCH have KCH will be able to always retreat from your .30's as long as he doesn't stay in fire for too long, and MM'Gs suppress KCH slower too. Try to use something else to beat them.

Easily beat by rushing PE if they don't hit a lucky mine/dont have enough MMG on the field.

the above strat sounds like it would work good with RE. croc church murders KCH, and will stop any units from getting close, plus it benefits from smoke us as well. also you can buy ablative armor for mmgs.

hmm, might use more riflenades than i already do with my RE company =)
