Though you'd need us also to set up tournament accounts, unless you want to just let people roll with lvl 5 accounts.

To be fair, IMO the ideal and most balanced 'tournament' accouunts would be level 7 with ONLY the bottom table stuff. (Unit, off-maps & upgrade unlocks) You also need to somehow 'disable' people from getting vet and/or PPs to further invest in their company else you won't have a level playing field at the start of every match.

In the long run I hope eirrmod could create a 'tournament' toggle on accounts that disables any XP and PP gain on them and only enables the bottom table unlocks. (And all other progression in general) Though I'm not sure how much work that would be

me and two were first tbh and we didnt even play a game, thats how fail the last tourney was rofl.

Well if you want to showcase persistency you'd also have to carry over veterancy from one game to the next, but that'd be quite unfair for a tournament. (Team A gets a stomp and easy vet in game 1, team B doesn't, team A and team B face off in the next game and team A has a lot more vet because they had an easier match or managed to horde some vet)

In general, tournaments aren't really used for 'showcasing' the game, I honestly don't think a lot of its matches will be shoutcasted. (Unless some new SCers show up). What matters more is balance and 'level playing field'. (With the top table buffs enabled, it may be hard to have real balance, players may just flock to the doctrines that are currently the most OP)

if you want see how coh works play vcoh, what im saying is showcase the the alternative that eir provides. eir is about earning yourself the ability to cast a stronger ability that -might- change the outcome of a game, within the matter of minutes, veterancy is indeed a persistant thing, but surely showcasing that is part of the game, why invite people to a mod saying oh yeh d/w everyone is level five working towards a level 9... when half the community will gladly stomp a newbie with their vet 3 army and 9000pp's. it's about understanding the close knit community and you're opponents and trying to win, not spamming 1 unit or ability. if you just want to show coh without base buildings with a limited popcap be my guest, i can guaranate it wont grant you an audience, with us being in 'limbo' we need somethin to invite people to the mod, not being negative or anythin but weve had fuck all apart from a (promise) since december of warmap which hasnt happened, we've been told we'll have our old doctrines (ab terror engis etc) back, which hasnt happened yet, all we've had is a string of patches which improve slightly what was imbalaned only to reveal something that is imbalanced. but that arguement is for another thread, and i'm sure it will have half the community being involved it was to be constructively organised.
