I think Tank130 made a great topic about how we should NOT make every faction a mirror faction and by giving US Marines that would be doing just that.

They dont have to be do somthing different with them.

Why not rename them to something that was actually in Europe....

Either that or when the warmap comes it will be impossible for axis to win.

Serious idea: Offer a "rifle training type" ability for purchase for small munitions cost.

Remember the rifle training tier 4? What about a toned down version of that? It could be purchased for a price in-between marksman shot and bar for american inf and similar for wehr grens, pe inf, and brits.

PURPOSE:

1) To bridge the gap in-between suppression fire and just vanilla inf.

2) to provide players with incentive to use the regular rifles of the infantry squads rather than bars and thompsons.

I'm pissed that the Officer no longer has heroic crits, every other officer-type unit has them as well. And don't say it's because there's two men in the command squad, because no other officer has functionality removed upon being shot. Easy solution: bring back the heroic armor/crits, and just get rid of the Thompson to reduce abusability.

Vet 3: Stormies can move at regular speed while cloaked, gain sprint and sprint does not break cloak

Marines. Marineeees!

Just don't give em a LMG or a medikit. Give them some other interesting upgrade.

I can think of several possible upgrades, that would help differentiate them.

Think about if they had a selection and that each selection greyed out another (kinda like you cant get one lmg and one shrek)

- A camo/cloak upgrade
- A ambush upgrade
- A binocular upgrade
- Demo charges
- a "30 cal" man
- light combat gear (-5 hp per man, gains passive sprint

Marines have not been made original enough. Currently they just remind me of a AB squad.
I believe that marines will be a common reward unit card - thus readily available(ish)

I agree to a few things :

Allies are a fucking BORING faction to play as. Other than thinking of silly vehicle-based fads it's always the fucking same thing over and over again. I fucking hate playing allies. They need something new added to them.

Stormtroopers with double shreks have always been my most disliked unit in the game (in terms of balance) and should just be removed. They are ridiculously efficient for their cost, but will never be nerfed because people will instantly cry at any fair price that will ever be given to them, because they're apparently "fragile" (yes, BARs can rape your stormtroopers. I am fully aware. Don't engage BARs with stormtroopers, then? Here's a protip : only one of the squads can actually cloak and pick it's engagements.).

They have the same number of basic infantry units as PE. 1. PE just has them split up by armament instead of just as upgrades.

I love my Infantry Coy, it's fun to play =) Got a Riflesquad up to 2+12 vs Infantry today. It was complete lolz.

Is it the perception of variety that people want? I find that my Allied and Axis coys all use roughly the same amount of different units in a build.

I tend to agree with both statements.

Remember the first 'Big' game mechanic I changed?  It was removing double shreks + double LMGs off Grens + Stormies.  I believe this needs to come back for stormies - and only be available with an doc unlock (T3 second tree) - which would address it somewhat, and make it avail only in certain builds.

Look at the number of basic units in Allies, and then at the number of basic units in PE.

There's more to the faction than just the infantry (not to mention PE's infantry is very very varied in the way it is used depending on it's type - like AGs are best aboard IHTs whereas G43s work best with Muni HT support).

I think thats all it is - perception, although it wouldnt hurt to have 1 more base inf unit or choice avail to Allies as default.

I like playing as Allies, mainly because it's easier for me and I suck balls at playing Axis.

Also because the unit voices when you click on them too much are funnier.

Allies are my fav tbh - I just like the multi-role the base infantry has.
Which, imo is why (like AmPM said) - PE has the same thing, but split into seperate unit types - but are ideally the same thing.
