ww2 everything had issues, p51 was crap till they finally got the right engine into it.

I don't care either way, other than this. If women are going to be on the god damned front with me, I want them held to the SAME physical standards, not ones that are made easier for them. If she can't carry me out of the area if I get shot then I'd rather have a man there that can do it.

In the US Army for example, the minimum PT requirements for upper body (pushups) for men are about 40 depending on age. Women, it's 14. Their run times are also slower.

P-51D and onwards were about equal to Me-262s. Typical Luftwaffe doctrine at that point in the war was to form ~3 groups of 4 fighters, called "Wolfpacks" and circle the bomber formation. The Me-262s would then scream in at max range and speed and lob cannon shells at a selected target--at that speed, you cant just choose to shoot something else, youre commited. At that speed the bomber gunners coulnt hear you or react in time to fire at you anyways. If the pilot made the mistake of pulling in-line with the bombers (same course and direction), he'd shed speed and become a viable target. If he shot right up the bomber stream however, he'd retain the speed and possibly line up several bombers. There were many instances of Me-262s being caught by marauding P-51 pilots, because the P-51 was better then the Me-262 in a turning fight--this late in the war, Luftwaffe pilots were far from expert (in most cases), so they indeed tried to turn and fight with the allies if they had to. Getting hit at all was instant death in most cases, the Me-262 was notorious for burning after being hit. Planes were made to turn a 180 in ~200-300 feet, so the movie is perfectly realistic. Except every 6 year old can't carry 70lbs of gear and carry their comrades out of a combat zone if needed. The M249 with ammo weighs in at about 24lbs, add in your armor and helmet and you are looking at about 60lbs of gear, throw in your other shit and you are looking at 70-80 easy. Without even accounting for extra ammo.

I'm very serious, I'm fine with women being in my unit, as long as they can do everything the job requires.

Also, 1 bullet only puts a person into the useless category when they can no longer fire a weapon.

A typical WW2 plane would do a 180 turn in about 18 seconds.

No, he saying WW1 plans fly slower and have a sharper turning radius because of that. In a modern warplane you'll sheer the frame off if you pull too many G's.

The fact that a WW1 era plane flies slower exerts less stress on the frame and it can pull those close in manouvres

it's actually better to wound person instead of killing him. This way his mates need to come to him,and you can gun them down. Also you need to spend resources on wounded person,on dead,you dont.

Go and watch 3rd world countries,where they train kids to carry and use guns,they may not be rly effective,but they can still kill you,and it's not easy to kill a child no matter if he carries a gun or not.
