well i guess my overall point is that PC gamers have a elitist status they like to brag about. Pointing out flaws that console gamers (yes they are more immature brats) have pretending PC gaming is so mature.
COD is just bad to play with a mic on 360. If PS3 came with mics im sure i would be bad too.

But in reality some of our beloved PC gamers are actually 14 year olds who have generous parents that buy them video cards and what not and still have no idea what gaming is beyond COD plus haks.

It was just a side note i think some PC gamers need to STFU or open their eyes to whats going on in gaming today. Ive been playing console/PC games since late 80s, so ive seen how things changed on both sides.

oooh i understand you. yeah well here's the thing.

pc gamers WERE the hard core gamers, they took things much more seriously, remember PC gamers usually build their own PCs, use mods, had mics, clans, plus there's the whole mouse and keyboard vs controller thing and all those things AGES before console gamers did.

and to me that is why they are more elitist ill go more into it, but i have a game starting =P

either way at this point with how far console games have come i believe both parties can be annoying.

Speaking to person x at certain times to get certain weapons just isn't true. In Dark Souls, as long as you don't kill the NPC's (there is only one you should kill, which would save you like 4 hours) then you're all good. I don't know what you've heard. All epic weapons are procured in the same way as in Demons Souls. You kill bosses and use their souls on +10 weapons to ascend them into something epic.

If we're talking about side-storylines, then yes, you will need to speak to certain people at certain times to unlock further storyline plots (eg. the knight of Catarina). But really, it's nothing important that you're missing out on.

Remember Final Fantasy 12 and what you had to do to get the Zodiac Spear? 1/1000 chance or don't open chests, break pots in a certain order 30 hours later in the game etc etc.. worst!

P.S. There are a lot of negative reviews for Dark Souls, and they're all completely justified. The amount of times you'll run from a campfire to a boss room only to get slaughtered 3 seconds into the fight and run back again will take up like 5 hours of your total game time. You'll really, really miss the luxury of reloading outside the boss room.

You never really reloaded outside a boss room in Demon's Souls unless you turned off the console as you died. And I wouldn't call that a luxury so much as an exploit. I really think most of the reviews that bring up that as a negative feature are kind of stupid. It's the same damn thing as in Demon's Souls, except there they called it an archstone instead of a bonfire.

Yes, but without giving spoilers away, when a specific bonfire disappears the walk becomes a 10 minute walk which is just infuriating, only to get to the room and have the boss spawn RIGHT ON THE OTHER SIDE of the fog and charge at you instantly! Capra demon was the worst.

Well, it's half that and half how it keeps everyone else back... whenever a game goes multiplatform it always has to adapt to inferiour hardware even by 2008-09 PC standards, so yeah, that's part of it.

Hell, look at BF3, you have the real BF3 in all it's glory for the PC... and BF3-Lite, that works for the console.

And well, the 360 version will get more sales than the PC one, proboably by a wide margin, this means the console looks like a better "Investment" leading to crappier games for PC owners, this is why console gamers are cheap tools and kiddies... stop ruining our games man! 



Remember Ghost Recon and Rainbow 6 back in the day, those were my first shooters actually... I still remember planning those routes, now all we have is vegas and that other future crappy looking game.

Or remember Ensamble (AoE) before they made halo wars... they existed!

1. Vegas was a really good game, just a good as the old rainbow 6 but it was *gasp* different.

2. Every time you keep bashing cross-console games i keep thinking fuck cross console. Most stand alone titles are amazing

Here's a tip then: if the guy looks evil, sounds evil and acts kind of evil, he's probably evil. The second I saw Lautrec stalking around Firelink, laughing his maniacal laugh, I stuck my Claymore in his back. Problem solved.

The point is, whether or not the central bonfire is deactivated depends entirely on your choices in the game. In the case, whether or not you jab something sharp through that asshole's back. I must agree that the Capra Demon fight reeked of poor design though, Spinn, it annoyed the hell out of me until I beat it with equally cheap tactics.

I just wanted Lautrec's armour, and believed it would be better than... anything..

I didn't realise it was a complete piece of shit. By the time I had Smough's set + moonlight shield everything else seemed irrelevant. Capra demon honestly took me about 10 times to even get close.. besides that, I don't think I had any issues with any other bosses in the game. Smough and Ornstein is probably one of the greatest boss fights in an action RPG that i've ever seen. That shit was just intense.

ya i can slightly agree that consoles popularity IS ruining PC gaming evolution.  But when you check out other games besides BF3 that came out on PC and console. They play 98% identical, yet the only thing PC gamers can say is... look how much better the graphics are on PC. By that they mean just the edges are smoother and shadows are more detailed. So I put a large blame on PC gamers for not actually caring that they once PC exclusive title just got butchered to fit console gamers as long as the PC version looks slightly sharper.

But honestly im finding  more console  AA/AAA exclusives that are attempting to break the mold than i do PC games. Most big name PC titles do fit the been there done that now give me money, while the ones who do break the mold never make release date, are bugged to death, or probably dont have anyones attention. The latter not being so bad since the community will be more smaller and more mature.

I think the reason why consoles have more popularity these days is because getting a PC strong enough to run even modern day games can be a large drain on the budget for some people. Putting together a PC whose value won't depreciate too fast can seem daunting as opposed to the option of buying a console, where you can play games in a similar quality for maybe $300 - $200 these days.

Actually i think PCs are cheaper to build these days than before. Remember years ago you had to get a $200-$400 video card every 6-12 months. Pretty much had to. And a good PC gaming rig did cost 1200-1500 bucks. Now $600 can last you quit a while. Guess you can say PC gaming not evolving graphics is a good thing.

Me and my brother grew up on PC gaming, me more than him since i loved the classics and still do. But he brings up a good point. Why buy a PC gaming rig? Granted hardcore gamers seeking something out of the norm will find some unique things on PC not found on console (actually same could be said other way around. Many hidden console gems PC gamers dont know about).  But all those big name titles on PC. Hitman, DeusEx, ElderScrolls, Crysis, blah blah blah play just as well on the console.

Only saving grace for PC would be modding. Which actually seems like a dying option these days. Not sure if devs are keeping their designer tools to themselves b/c they want to rip off customers with DLC or b/c modern day engines are complex as fuck.

I think next gen consoles will close the gap further between PC gaming and console gaming. Unless PC offers something really unique.

Skyrim difficulty is a joke. The witcher 2 was MUCH harder.

You know why? Because you can drink as many potions as you want and enemy AI is terrible. There's like 1 or 2 enemies you can't just run circles around.
