Trust me tank, Ive tried to assist them and I continue doing so. Ive told them to read/watch the tutorials, asking them to see if their launcher name matches their CoH name but even that's not enough. They're stubborn as hell and occasionally hostile. There's only so much you can do to help as they need to help themselves.
The only thing I can think of to help is to impress the necessity of reading the tutorials. Editing the news screen might help as its the first thing you see once you start the launcher (noobs have no idea what the weapons cache is and therefore won[t give a damn; changing the scrolling text would be good as well.
While Demon's idea is perfectly valid, the only issue that remains is that very few people have actually moved onto ventrilo. Coming into a new mod, entering EIRR's ventrilo isn't exactly a priority. They will most likely go on vent once after their first several games (if that, assuming players encourage use of ventrilo), but by that point very few questions will be raised (in terms of starting a game, etc).

People who try to learn and stubbornly sticks and fights are those we need. Not people like CmndrHimmel25751656 who doesn't do anything or reply to helps but instead forces and joins another game stubbornly and if none wants to play with/against him because he doesn't know how to do things he'll ragedelete and say that the mod is shit. |

I play EIR since i have seen the video on KrebsCOHO Channel. The entrance in this mod was really ardous but it established. Additionally ich watched a lot of tutorials to understand this game and now i played several games and speaking with many guys in ventrillo while my english isnt really god. (I'm german) I think every beginner should get the chance to be assisted to get in this game. The next time i see a beginner, i will help him too. This is the only way that this community can grow up. When we're just sayin "Google for the Tuts!" we disencourage the beginner and the community will not grow up. Everyone starts as a beginner.  |
