Pros & Cons of top gunners for all factions coming free.

Affected Vehicles
CW - Staghound...lol
US - Sherman, M-18,
WM - StuG, StuH, P-IV, Panther, G-Wagon,
PE - P-IV Stubby,  Hetzer, Scout Car

I'm not for it or against it, just a thought, looking for feedback.

I'd rather have the gunner killed crit removed so you don't lose it after 1 atg hit Undecided.

you mean via a doctrine, or if they just started with it? we'd have to see some kind of price increase for everything.

the problem also is sherman .50 and m8 is far more useful than m18.
and well as you said with staghound lol.

also stug mg is far better than mgs on any other tanks for wm

would be interesting, but not interesting enough right now to even consider since there's so many other things to be worried about.

but elite's suggestion does make sense.

imo we should rework all crits since repair in EIR works so differently. we once wanted to make crit specific repair kits already but that turned out buggy.
what we could do is indeed remove top gunner killed crits. engine dmg could stay but make the effect of it less impacting. at the moment engine dmg reduces max speed by 60%. it would be interesting to see if we'd cut that in half.

1. i thought we wanted to make eir having more options and diversity instead of removing them
2. that benefits only people with many armor (m8 is not your list but stag is so you probably just forgot it) e.g. one of my armor companies

8xm8 + 4xm18 thats 12x35mun=435mun i would save

in one of my wehr companies i got max. P4s = 5 thats 175mun i would same if i look to an other company (2panther 1 p4) its just 105mun

my pershing company (2 pershing 5 m8) would save just 175 mun most of my pe companies would save nothing cos they don't have units with top gunner

furthermore on a sherman you save 50 mun for .50 cal while on p4 just 35mun cos the .50 cal is better thats why more expensive

what you suggest is removing unit diversity (some units with top gunner some without) and buffing different companies unequal

I would be fine if the ones that don't really do that much didn't cost anything (exceptions being .50 cals, stug, and hetzer I think). Top guns on P4 and Panther don't seem to really matter at all, but I still find myself buying them if only for the sake of giving my tanks every benefit.

The criticals are stupid often times, what Elite said happens all the time and it should never happen (makes no sense). However, I think an even worse issue is when you rescue a tank with damaged engine and the repair doesn't even fix the damn thing--nearly useless tank and 12-16 pop tied up for 5 minutes before you realize it and manage to creep it off the field.

can you explain why this wouldnt work:

ability checks hp of tank = a

ability sets health to 100 (crits fixed)

ability sets hp to = a

ability initiates normal repair kit

Right, but a repair kit should repair the engine and gun first. I don't think I'm even sure why the kits don't fully repair them anyway... some vehicles repair all the way, but the bigger ones never seem to.

We've been wanting to rework repair kits for some time now, allowing users to cancel them (with a delay) for one would already be a big step.
