Issue:

The doctrine is better at buffing regular tommies with brens for AI duty than it is buffing commandos.

I talked to Leophone and he confirmed for me that the commando T3 combinations make more sense to use for tommies than for commandos. Because of Bren.

I've used top t4 for commandos for 16-20 games, and they are not a viable presence as AI infantry. As piat infantry they are nice support and the occascional demo charge, but their AI role is ineffective and pricey and also raped by pool.

1.  Red devils should be better  for commandos.
2.  Since the T3's are cool in themselves, there should be a bren unlock for commandos. 2 x 80 mun. No button maybe, but its not important that they have button.

Put it in the bottom T2 "Canister Shot" and just rename it "Extra equipment".

I think also this would help making allies cooler to play and commandos more versatile/intersting.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

I think the dev team have been so afraid of making Commandos OP that they've neglected to really give them anything at all.

Funny how the same ideals don't appear to have transferred to other elite infantry though.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

ab and rangers get sucky buffs as well, their buffs are so negligible that you barely notice it.

5th Thompson + Overlord Officer = Some rather nasty Thompson Rangers. Just have to keep them alive long enough to get close. Zooks are competent support AT.

Airborne excel at their given role as it stands (AT). Airborne Medics make them last for an incredibly long time in the correct hands, as they maintain full AT efficiency all the way to the last two men.

Commandos run support for their AT, and don't particularly excel at it. Their AI is lacklustre for Rifles, and expensive compared to the benefits for Stens. The accuracy buffs from Officers or the single T4 don't overpower the very cut down damage enough to be of practical use outside of Bren Carriers.

It'd help if you made specific suggestions rather than just saying it should buff commandos more Tongue. The hardest part of doctrine design is usually coming up with good buffs that aren't OP OR boring. .

Stens need to be worth something. 135 MU would be a fair price investment if they didn't do crap damage against the better axis infantry. They still have their age old modifiers from vCoH which made them appropriate for the time in game that you got access to them.

I did, add brens as a weapon upgrade for commandos so you can play them defensively with the T3 buffs. Leophone even thought having a 3 bren upgrade with no button was a good idea.

Well, weapon upgrades are a doctrine unlock, so we'd need to work them in in the bottom trees somewhere.

Those buffs are currently the only thing holding Commandos together at the moment tbh. They'd have to get a solid replacement elsewhere to justify their loss.

Accuracy and reload/cooldown buffs if memory serves. If you want specifics, go trawl through the RGD's, I'm not picking out officer buffs in the RGD's tonight tbh.

0.65 cooldown
1.375 accuracy
0.9 reload

then on top of that you can get:
1.2 accuracy (mark target)
0.5 cooldown (heroic chrage)
the red devils t4
vet for tommies

sure, sure. But you said yourself this was kinda useless for the sten.

and it makes sense right? at short range where the sten is good, the accuracy thing will at best counteract other buffs.

can't really have epic heroic charge either when you have the t4

but yeah I will try again and see if the commando LT really makes such a difference

For Rifle Commandos or Tommies, these buffs are pretty damned good stuff.

For Stens, they are mediocre. Once your close range with Stens, you'll be hitting with the majority of your rounds anyhow - the problem is the damage they deal to elite/soldier/heroic armour.
