Considering the effort they put into the trailer, the least they could do was make CG variations and a longer space battle at the end.  Like when the Asari come in (I had two playthrus, one in which I saved the Destiny Ascension and another I destroyed it), they could have easily removed an Asari ship there to represent it.  The handful of 'Alliance' famous ships like the Shengali and stuff doing their stuff or blowing up in the final battle.. like the USS Arizona or Hood you know.. give you more connection to it.. then the 'ground' forces either showing CG or just having RADIO CHATTER like the Ace Combat series of the forces you saved like the STG Special Forces or the Delta force team, etc.  Things like that would have added much greater weight to the story and gameplay, that your choices actually mattered.  Would have greatly reduced the outrage of the 'you have no input on the ending' uproar.. the war assets not being anything and no meaningful choice you made in the series matters when you are left with the 3 color choices. =/

But yeah the rest of the game was stellar, loved every moment of it.  I won't dismiss the entire game due to the ending but it does leave a very bitter taste in my mouth that nearly destroys the whole series, much like the uproar over the novel's misinformation that Bioware has to correct.  And yeah Thane's death was very, very sad.

Saddest deaths for me was Mordin (god what a great character he was!) and Legion (not the robot!!!!). =(

I felt bad for Legion. He was a means to an end for me though, the alliance with the geth wasn't strong enough for me to give up the other alliance.

My Mordin actually survived, I hid the Krogan conspiracy from him until the last moment, then made him believe that Krogan extinction was in his best interests (as we destroyed the previous data). I heard he sings to Eve, I want to hear that! My Mrs. has played through all ME's and has only romanced Thane.. when she plays ME3 she's gonna die!

Also, watch the romance video with Garrus in the Citadel when Femshep chooses to miss a shot  in target practice. Good to hear Garrus using Shepard's one liners!

I ended the the game with over +7000 war assets lmao, I even got the batarian fleet on my side.

i tried...but i stupidly suggested counterattacking so they'd like me thinking i could get them to change their minds later...nope. One had to die, oh well. I did get some geth primes though.
