Pneumonia is often related to smoking. Have you considered using other alternative nicotine based products?

Ive pretty much given up.  And Bronchitis is more affected by it, rather than pneumonia, but it didnt help.
Ive only been smoking for a year - and not much at that, mainly when drinking.  So yeah, it was easy to basically stop (Im on 3 max a day now.)

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

You mean this "yummy" stuff?

Sorry to hear about that Luci, it seems it'll work out so that's nice... Also, about the smoking, not to be that guy but I'd rather you dont end up like most of the people on mums side of the family. Had 3 relatives (Grandpa, 2/3 mums sisters) died out of cancer, two of them were the lung type and they all smoked... Just sayin'... (Really, sorry for saying that lol, I know how much I hate when people tell me all those cokes are bad for me)

On the other hand I'm getting "Something", I love surprises... Well, not the rear entry kind but... Ok, I love most surprises!  Grin

Good luck on giving it up... even if it's just been a year it might be harder than that... You dont want to know how many times I've heard mum or other people say that :/

Ha yeah.  I used to be the poster boy for non-smoking.  Was the only one in my social group who didnt do it.

In fact, when handed one by a mate a couple of years ago, instead of lighting it, I slowly tore it apart.
He said 'HEY WTF ARE YOU DOING?' - and I replied, 'You enjoy your smoke your way, Ill enjoy it mine.'

Giving up should be cake, strong willpower.

Hate to break it to you, thats still full on smoking. I tricked myself with that logic for a long time. Nicorete and the such are useless too as they just draw out the pain. Go cold turkey for 2-3 days and if you REALLY want it, you won't need another smoke ever again.

Hahahahah, sounds like you have it covered Wink
Still, it's also partly "Do you really want to"? It applies to pretty much anything really, even sweets and stuff...

"Man, I need to stop drinking all this coke or I'll get fat n stuff... I'll stop today"
"You sure it'll work out fine?"
"I know it's bad for me, I'll just quit that stuff..."
"But do you really want to?"
"... fuck off"

True Niko, I dont really WANT too - and unfortunately, thats going to be the crux of the issue.

I may somehow be insidiously addicted and THATS why I dont want to, but at the moment, its a moot point as the result will be the same.

You know it's funny, I pretty much have a sugar addiction (It exists) so the guy in that example was me, and that conversation was 5 days ago... Laugh if you want, but it's been a looooong while since I went even 2 days without coke and it's given me a bloody headache not drinking it, bleh, if I'm having trouble with this I dont even want to imagine what giving up nicotine would be like.

As a side note, at least nicotine stuff generally isnt as tasty as sweets and coke, lol

I've had Pneumonia before. Damn near died from it. I was in a nearly comatose state, sleeping with my eyes open, pissing where ever i was at the time because it was too hard to move. Infected, both Lungs, all 3 lobes. Thats about as close to death as you can get with the sickness and thats when I was 17. I had resigned myself to death at that point, just cause it would have been easier. What certainly made it worse was that it turns out I was allergic to the 1st round of antibiotics and I had a systemic reaction.(have you ever had a full body rash that moves?)

But with proper medical care and over a month of rest I managed to pull through and my outlook on life and death has certainly been altered. I approach most of life's dangerous things with an intense desire of survival. The survivalist attitude definitely helps with things like fighting or even pleasure sports like Paintball.

Lol, I happened to catch a bit of a sore throat a bit over a week ago. I decided to power through and still go to work as I always do - it'll go away. Well, 2 night shifts later, when I feel my legs go numb, blackness in my perifery vision and a shortness of breath I decide I'm calling in sick the next day - as I've also by now developed a cough that wouldn't allow me any sleep after 36 hours of being awake. Go to the doctors - the doctor's like "oh, you're fine - it's acute faringotracheabronchitis (full on chest infection). Just take this double dose of antibiotics for your viral infection". Which, with me knowing a bit of medicine translated to "oh shit oh shit oh shit, good thing you came in NOW or you would have come down with pneumonia and would have been soooo fucked".

Still coughing up phlegm too, is probs gonna last a couple weeks but I'm feeling quite alright in general. Good thing I didn't get to the blood cough bit :S. Get well soon, luci, we know your pain bra.

viral infections cannot be cured by antibiotics.

I thought that was general knowledge to most developed nation citizens. I mean i understand someone who'se never seen let alone had Antibiotics not knowing but thats pretty basic First aid level stuff.

Duh? The reason she gave me antibiotics is because pneumonia is generally caused by an underlying bacterial infection that goes fucking wild because your body's too busy dealing with the viral wrecking havoc on your lungs.
