sure ya do........
Well, I just have shown some facts showing otherwise Tongue.

If I can wait until ToV is released and is near the 10$ mark before spending even a $ on CoH, what makes you think I will splurge out 50$ for CoH2. BTW I dont exactly have the funds you have. I can't afford to get games so quickly.

Hell, Ive ALWAYS wanted DoWII , but I have never bought it to this day yet. I also wanted to pretty much insta buy Total War Shogun, I waited until it was on sale for roughly 25$. Hell one of the biggest examples is that I have been hyped up to the maximum fucking level you can get for Spore for years, I decided against better judgement to wait.

Statistical evidence shows I don't spend cash on a whim, even if a game is good I know that one must wait until the situation improves.

Not one of the many outbursts and personal attacks i have seen come from you even hint at self control.
When people say absolutely stupid shit what do you expect? Not to mention thats irrelevant to my ability to resist buyers remorse.

To be fair, there's a bigger likelihood that they fuck up COH 2 (like they did with OF and ToV) than that they end up making it greater or just as great as COH. For that reason alone I will hold off pre-ordering until I've seen some actual (MP) gameplay. I'd love to be in the beta, but it's not worth the 50 euro 'risk'. Getting shafted on D3 was bad enough, I learnt my lesson when it comes to 'promising' sequels.

Heck, they may just end up making coh 2 unmoddable, like they did with DoW 2. That alone would be a reason for me not to support the game on release day.

Hell, the fact that they are going to sell skin packs does kind of hint at that :/

Indeed. Lips sealed
If they decide to make CoH2 not modable, THQ definitely forgot that the modding community kept CoH alive..

Hahaha, "Necessary sacrifices"?

To be honest, CoH2 will most likely do well either way, while it's been a while CoH was very well received and a lot of people who generally don't play RTS still know about the game. I bet it'll sell just fine even if they kill what we think is it's soul.

D3 sold really well despite the fact that it's a pretty terrible sequel. The name alone will make it sell well, but us consumers will hopefully draw our conclusions, and they're not going to sell any expansions or further content if the sequel ends up being unworthy.

If I was at the helm of THQ, I would release CoH2 unmodable. Market it, sell it, release some updates, make my money.

Then, after sales started dropping and interest started to wain, I would send out a patch making it modable. Boom, another influx of sales and interest.

There may be a couple of people who claim they will boycott the game if it is not modable, but let's be real, if they release a great game it will sell.

About 90% of game sales are made during Pre-Order and the first week after release (in some cases like CoD during the first 48 hours).... so that's irrelevant to modding.
The problem is if they fear user created content could undermine DLCs sales, if that's the case we are going to have a bleak future.

Considering they took a lot of inspiration from the modding community for their games, I don't think they would be stupid enough to block modding.

Bullshit. COH2 is gonna be best at release when it has been in pre-order beta for 2-3 months, enough time for relic to fix all major balance issues. At this point they will also release balance patches and map updates at a regular basis. Six years later however when they sell the game for 10 bucks, they'll already have ruined it with expansions/dlc.

But whatever, if you don't even like the gameplay of coh then I doubt that you will enjoy the sequel.

Relic have stated that this is what they're doing. They will release the game unmoddable and then after DLC/Expansions they will open up modding.

Sharks are not monsters Henley, they are cute, cuddly and misunderstood. They love humans. sometimes they love TOO much. They love people so much that sometimes their kisses separate people into two flailing pieces which are consumed by other sharks in a frenzy of peace and joy.

To be honest i just see them shutting down the coh servers to try to force us to switch over.

That would kind of defeat the purpose of them giving away the original CoH games in the Collector's Edition of CoH2.

jeez we have some pretty bleak outlooks here, but not with out reason. i for one refuse to pay 50+ dollars for a game. the last time i did was maybe L4D? and i often wont buy a game with out playing a demo first no matter how much i like it.

after the disappointment i had with every sequal to bf2 i gave up hope on ever seeing a great well done sequal. thank god i didnt buy into D3! but L4D2 and portal 2 gave me faith in some companies and their quality towards sequals. relic i think and hope, is one of those companies.

either way you wont see me buying coh2 until eirr moves over or on a good sale.

Fun facts.

Company of heroes is still the highest rated RTS game of all time on most sites.

Relic made 2 of the 5 Top rated RTS games. (Company of heroes and Homeworld)

They can make sequels of these series anytime and I'd love it.

Actually, while I am still quite optimistic about CoH2 all in all, Homeworld 2? Only two things can happen...

1. It will only share similarities to Homeworld as we knew it, but might still be good for other reasons.
2. It wont be Homeworld the way we knew it anymore, it'll be a repeat of DoW2.

Pretty much the same thing I guess? However, I doubt Homeworld would survive THQ like the Hardcore (If you didn't abuse glitches, they were hard games for sure) story driven space epic it once was.

And for the record? HW:Cataclysm is still one of the creepiest games I ever played.
