I feel like I've brought this up before but I'm not sure.

What if all shots "except small arms" were ballistic, you could adjust the speed of the projectile, the arc, etc, accuracy would no longer be a part of anything, no seeking shots and you could actually dodge shots if you're paying attention, it might makes tank on tank battles all the more epic.

oh yeah, it can be done.

reduce accuracy to zero, reduce scatter angle of all guns to be really low and change all armor so shots clip.

shots would always technically miss, but they would "RR" scatter into their targets

Coincidentally wouldn't this (without heavy stat modification) make tank battles take forever, reduce the number of combat-effective tanks drastically and force players to sandwich tanks up against each other just to get shots in?

Add a reload modifyer too all tanks so the closer a target is the longer the reload would take.

Not if scatter was reduced to reasonable levels.

The idea is plausible, it'd just take an ungodly amount of work sifting through all the files.

... by a very minor degree, ask yourself this... why did relic add accuracy in the first place?

Take building for example, rolling "Scatters" onto infantry in houses without the magic tracing, I'd predict it could cause issues to say the least, not to mention, yellow cover is now useless as far as accuracy regards, as it doesn't provide any direct scatter blocking.

There are more issues than would first seem.

it really shouldn't against tank rounds lol. but with a good enough scatter, rounds may just miss cuz of a missfire, cuz right now i'm sick of my shots hitting green cover cuz it rolls a hit into the green cover even though tthe guy is to the right of the green cover or yellow cover, its retarded

It could be done. You might also want to make it so it doesnt clip with cover though, because if tank hides behind a vehicle or sandbag they essentially get a stationary 300+ HP boost.

Regardless, not fit for EiR. I thought of doing this idea for CoH too, and having it like that for all weapons.

BTW this is how ground control worked.

That's because it "Missed" the inf inside the house and scattered into it instead, don't you just love it when this happens? I sure would love to see this happen more often.


Mind you, issues that could be solved by clever workarounds, but the effort it would take? You'd likely take longer than it does for them to finish CoH2 if you want to balance it properly. Converting accuracy values to scatter is no joke.
