Home world and war hammer rights still not bought, Sega only purchased Relic and the rights to company of heroes.

Ill find out this week what happens to me, but right now it's looking good. Sega came here last week and they were definitely really serious about this. They had a five year plan for the company and saw it as a major addition to their portfolio. I'm actually really excited at this point. I'm just hoping we get the rights to the other 2 IPs.

At least you and your buddies can take pride in the fact that apparently relic was worth the most Wink

    $500k Homefront (Crytek)
    $26M for Relic (Sega)
    $2.5M for THQ Montreal (Ubisoft)
    $3.2M for South Park (Ubisoft)
    $11M for Evolve (Take-Two)
    $22.3M for Volition (Koch Media)
    $5.8M for Metro (Koch Media)

So THQ currently owns the licence to homeworld? Not that I kept up on that one but I thought some other company held those rights (as they went to activision with the death of sierra)?

On the other hand, maybe they'll just let Relic make "Offworld - Totally not homeworld", haha

No one in this world is going to convince me that EA is worse than activation, they USED to be worse than today but they're not quite a bad these days. Mind you, they're both shit, EA is just shot that seems to smell less with time, activision is the opposite.

R.I.P Relic.

At least it wasn't EA though. Oh and I really hope something happens with the Homeworld and Warhammer licenses!

Surely they knew someone was going to buy them and no be stupid enough to 'cancel' what is essentially an almost finished game. I mean, that's like buying a goldmine and then not digging up the gold.

If EA bought the publishing rights to Company of Heroes they would release DLC with two new maps and then price it at 50$ and they would continue to release DLC like this frequently so that you'd be forced to buy all of the DLC to have access to 90% of the servers. You would also need to install the origin client and keep your browser open while playing the game and go back to the browser every time you change servers. Meanwhile the client would search your computer to accurately display advertisements based on your personal interests.

If there's one credit you can give to "corporate d bags", it's that money is their central focus in life. In this case, not continuing production of the game would be to throw away money, gross amounts of it in fact, and thus it's unreasonable to assume they'd just cancel it.

It's easy to trump advertising - just don't have any interests.
