girls have what thousands or more pain receptors than men

This is a myth.

On a more serious note, very few girls play laser tag. It's actually about the same ratio as with videogames...

The researchers believed that women may not always experience more pain, but rather are socialized to acknowledge pain and thus are more likely to report it in both laboratory and clinical settings. Men are taught to not acknowledge pain, so in a short-term lab experiment they are less likely than women to admit that they are in pain.

Research overall on the subject is sparse and inconclusive. And even so, the myth is that women has significantly more pain receptors than men (which your link doesn't talk about) NOT that women has a lower pain threshold (which is what your link talks about). Important distinction there.

And about pain receptors, I have found several instances where it is claimed that women have more pain receptors on the skin than men. But none of them are sourced and on Wikipedia that particular statement has a [citation needed] attached to it. It's like people just type it because it's "common knowledge", much the same way a myth works...

No, the article does talk about women having more pain receptors than men. Here is more info on the study:

That is interesting actually, but it's also like the only scientific study on the net. And since it's 7 years old it strikes me as odd that seemingly so little research is being done in the subject.

Well, i would not concidered that statement a myth concidering I herd it from a doc friend that works in OB/GYN But, I took her words on face value and did not check it out so fml if what you say is "true":-)

I do also find it plausible that today's ladies at least in western society have a culture of being more fragile and ppl fussing more when a girl falls this might create a psychological behaiviroal reaction in the girls mind that "oh they are so expectant that it should hurt, may be it really does" where on the flip side men have a testosterone driven social upbringing that crying and complaining is weak and therefore discouraged so might be a lot if pain but not actually wanting to show.

Also concidering that a lot of pain has to do with our ability to believe and create anxiety towards feeling pain and thus feeling more pain (that's why those whom are allergic to anethestetic get vallium instead which Is a calming drug) the social context of girls should "fear" pain and boys welcome it could have a significant impact ^^

When I was younger I had a FAMAS G2 (normal barrel version, without reflex gunsight) which I have brought at Ebay. It was a realistic rebuild and weighted
~2kg-3kg and was a pretty awesome gun since it had a long suspension travel (~30cm) because the spring was placed inside the whole barrel which means
you could shot BBs very precise.

The bad thing about that wapeon was that over the whole day the loading got exhausting and the reloading of the mags was ambitious. For loading
the mags you need to fill a tubular with the BBs and stick it into the opening of the mag and press them into the mag with the loading stick. My buddies
could refill their mags just with "flodding" it BBs. (It was easier/faster but sometimes it caused a jammed gun)

G3, Electric and improved barrel and battery power, and Gas driven Glock 17. Although saving to get a gas rifle like the ones i tried in the us ^^

mmm, gbb. Shame gbb riffles can't be used at CQB sites...

Only a completely arbitrary system would have that. Any kind of logical system will use the kinetic energy of the round instead.

Anyway I have the same g3 as heartmann and they are shit. But my co2 "1911" (it's actually some kind of hi-capa that resembles a 1911) is pretty neat.

That's ridiculous. Then you might as well ban gas weapons all together because they can be tampered with and "clearly" the safety distances can't be applied properly. Same thing with spring-loaded weapons. Even electric weapons should be banned all together because they can be replaced with similar looking weapons that are stronger. If a psycho wants to circumvent the rules he will do so anyway and when he does it will be readily apparent to everyone involved.

It's quite simply a completely fucked up way of thinking that in the end amounts to nothing.

I don't think gases have that much effect on fps for your projectile.
But depending on the gauge of bb.

You'd need to use
Force x mass = velocity

Force x mass = velocity lulwut???

Do you perhaps mean force/mass=acceleration? Anyway glhf trying to calculate anything useful with that formula in airsoft without knowing a whole lot of other stuff like how the rifle is built.

Also fps means absolutely nothing unless you also know the mass of the bb, not all bbs are 0.2 grams.

You can estimate the kinetic energy of a BB from a gas wapeon with the pressure-volume work.

When you estem the isothermic expanse of a gas you can deduce the pressure-volume work from the
ideal gas law. Dissolved the work equals:

With
and you get finally:

With that formular you can see that the volume work is negative, which means that you can energy gets
evacted and you can carry out work with that energy.

How can you increase the velocity/kinectic energy of a projectile?

a) You Change the propellant gas:
When you look at table with a list of common gases you can see that they differentiate from Propan := ~190 J/(kg * K) up to Helium := ~4100  J/(kg* K)
which would be a difference factor of 4100/190 = ~21.

b) Change ln(v1/v2)
This effect might be promising, but it will decrease your maximum amount fired BBs per gas load and aquires you to reload them more frequently.

Gases have a greater effect than you might think.. ..so does anyone know roughly what the difference would be?

Tadaa! Was complicated to explain it english. In german it would be no big deal and I could explain every detail.
