The SSX games are pretty damn fun to, so is the new one. And I hope you're not going to call the burnout games crap, or the criterion made NFS games for that matter... Hell, I grew up playing the old NFS games.

Well you have to keep in mind that in 2007 EA still was a pretty ok company that published pretty good games.
2008 and later=What were they thinking?
Granted there are exeptions like BC2 and Brutal Legend but still, the rest is still a clusterfuck.

I found both da games shallow bland and boring barely the neverwinter tribute it claimed to be. And the bc series was a pretty cut down bf2 that appealed to graphics whores. At least sim city tried to do different stuff and in some ways be bigger then its predecessors which few games try to be (were looking at you xcom, you shallow pos)

Well diffrent aint allways better.
Sure BC had its flaws of non existant teamwork in pubs but its gameplay was pretty balanced and ontop of that the pretty funny campaign, the free map packs and th BF vietnam reskin expanison so even tough if you bought it at its original price or when it went on sale it was still worth it to buy. sure i have to agree with you brutal legend was nothing special in terms of gameplay but it ontop of the story was more than worth it in entertainment at its original price and if you buy it now for 20 bucks on steam.

Developers who piss on me don't get a second chance easily(SotS2,mass effect 3, gas powered games, etc)
I don't see how EA is any different. I enjoyed a lot of the early sim games(city, ant, tower, etc) I might even like this new sim city once they fix the weird shit you can achieve with no employment(how do people pay property taxes?)
But no amount of patches or free games will ever make me forget the fact that they lied to the entire consumer base about DRM and server connections.

Just to clarify, Maxis is the developer, EA is the publisher.

You should know by now that EA doesn't need to own the developer in order to fuck the product up with executive meddling, thus it is irrelevant.
Saying that EA developed Sim City is like saying that Activision developed CoD:MW2

Maxis is 'EA Maxis' but my point is that EA is what trashed the product. I enjoyed previous maxis titles.
I enjoyed previous bioware titles.
I enjoyed previous Westwood titles.
I enjoyed previous mythic titles.
I enjoyed the previous DICE titles.
I enjoyed previous pandemic titles.
See the trend. While I congratulate EA on its business savy(well recent years have slumped) it no longer represents what it used to stand for. The public jokes about EA, the industry jokes about EA, just about everyone except EA.
I'm sure that wasn't the vision the original founder had.

EA is a total joke. i just recently got back into the Fifa series and other thing's.
Aside from the server troll's the new engine breaks the game fifa wise at least.

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

He is very much correct, piracy exists because there are no commercial alternatives, steam is the only one that comes to mind but because they dominate the market, they can ignore customer rights and pricing. Service is most important ofc, but theoretically it should cheaper to maintain a few download servers than to produce physical copies and ship them to stores around the world and they should not be able to just ignore customer laws that apply to everyone else.
