I don't think any Western European company will allow me to just throw 2000 euros away unaccounted for.

well Unknown i can explain you how it works:

every one who has deals or other activities in construction, building buisness knows that there is money for "making" things go smooth or faster for example sometimes you need "pay" to some1 for this. But you cant show those money in legal company countings because its ilegal and you cant support those moneys with builts and checks so = problems with IRA. Well every1 who is lead of projects has these "money" cuz its essential i bet tank130  Tongue knows it very good, etc i am allways taking inspectors for lunch and i am allways paying builts cuz he is the one who signs final papers after work is done, sometimes you need more to convince him sometimes less

Don't drag me into this bullshit....lol

I have absolutely no reason to bribe officials or inspectors. Learn to do your job within the confines of the regulations and put the money in your pocket.

Spent $2200 at the casino in 4 hours on my 21st

It was supposed to be a quiet night

casinos obviously break the rules.  Spending absurd amounts of money at a casino is perfectly normal.  2 grand in alcohol is a different matter.

"Greasing the wheels" in Eastern Europe is still fairly common practice, yeah - but don't the lot of you start getting all on your proverbial high horse about it, because you guys do it to.

Taking out a potential client to a nice dinner at a posh restaurant? Greasing the wheels. Bringing a bottle of expensive champagne to the host of a party because you intend to nail a contract with him? Greasing the wheels. Taking out a government employee for drinks when you need his help to ensure your request doesn't get burried under a mountain of red tape before you even get an initial answer? Greasing the wheels.

None of those is illegal, and every single country I can think of does it to some degree or another. Yeah, maybe with the government employee thing we're talking about favoritism which can be "frowned upon" - but that's an issue with a government service being inefficiently slow that makes firms resort to greasing the wheels to get shit done. Have you ever tried making a legitimate inquiry to the HMRC? Takes more than 3 weeks for them to respond to even the simplest question if you don't have somebody you know working there.

I think you are confusing greasing the wheels with buying a whole new set of wheels. Which is what shab's budget seems to be for.
