Well, aslong as people get that DST exists and GMT is most often the standard time of doing things it isnt a huge issue.

People didn't meet up for them , and it was hard to make entertaining scenarios without some derp complaining about how it was unfair later.

I always wanted to manage this scenario where everyone had "cinematic" unit choices. A big chateau defended by volks and luftwaffles and wirbelwinds and ostwinds and flakvierligns with the unit ranger airborne commando armies making pushes with shermans, crocs, satchels and heroics.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Basically, with the arrival of Company of Heroes 2, the old Europe in Ruins Reinforcements will be tossed aside like a old used sock without ever reaching completition?

Define 'complete'? We do plan to have all doctrines ready and most development for EIR 1 wrapped up before we start working on EIR 2... If people keep playing EIR 1 even with the release of EIR 2, it might still receive some minor RGD support even. (Though I very much doubt that will be needed as most people will switch over, and rightfully so... EIR 2 promises to be a completely new experience)

But we haven't got a complete EIRR experience yet

What makes you think EIR2 will be ready when COH2 is released? I'd be surprised if it's up and running by 2020.

Does nobody remember how quickly I got EIRR up from the start?  We had a working internal build within a month of me taking over, and released it in 2 months.

I have also prepared quite a fair bit for a new launcher, and would just require a transfer of code from EIR1 -> COH2 mod.

Question being will eir2 have only Soviets and easternfront axis.

Also, most of the EIR SCAR works on COH 2 as well, so I'm pretty sure we will have an internal build very shortly after the COH 2 release.

I know there's a lot of things you can say about EIR's development process at times, but the base game has always been operational and even more or less balanced.  It's solely things like doctrines and advanced warmap stuff that were delivered late, incomplete and whatnot. And in the way we approach EIR 2, we fully intend to avoid some of the mistakes of the past (eternal doctrine reworks, veterancy and whatnot) so that we can focus all our efforts on slowly expanding and enriching the base game rather than perpetually reworking it.

Initially it will just be Soviets and Axis yes. We really want to focus on getting a solid, refined, EIR experience to you guys first before drowning ourselves in the massive workload that is implementing a whole new faction. It's definitely something that is a possibility later down the road though. Same with new units and whatnot.

Why do I get the feeling that EIRR is more or less sacked?

You've gotten more patches in the last few months than you have in a long time to be honest, I think such feelings are uncalled for.

Tbh forget EIRR it's fine/enjoyable as is, only things that are clearly problematic and should have quick fixes/taken out like AB mortar, mustard gas, etc. should have a bit of attention.

99% of effort should be towards EIR2 imo. I mean CoH2 is out in less than a month! Focusing on EIRR is about as smart as waiting till september and then buying all the battlefield 3 expansions lol.
