Even if tank has renewed the domain europeinruins.com, your router might take some time to recieve the new DNS entries.
By entering those things into the hosts file, you are redirected to the right IP since your PC takes the host file over your routers DNS server.

Yeah and if for some reason the ip changes ure boned coz all the dns magic wont work.
Shit fix is shit, just flush ur dns cache.

Before throwing out random curses, better stop and think for a moment.

1. It is very uncommon for servers changing their IPs if you dont change them on your own (Server administrator).
2. That "fix" was posted at a time the A-Record of "europeinruins.com" and its subdomains pointed to a domain owned by the domain provider to notify the tenant of unsuccessfull renewal. - flushing the DNS cache would be completely useless at this time.
3. If you prefer going through all steps with heartmann to flush his dns cache, feel free to do so.

And if that , for whatever reason, happens again, i wish u lots of fun when when the forum is filled with "eir not work yaddyadda" posts.
Ohh wait wont happen, coz, hey messed up host file.
 I can quarantee you that in a few day half the guys here forgot that something like the host file even exists not to think of the fact that they messed with it.
And it will end like in every forum: Some smartass brings the ultimate solution: Reinstall windows.
Why? Because someone brought a fix for a basicly non existant problem.
So much for thinking for a moment.

I don't understand why this issue is even happening now. It made sens that you were redirected when the server was essentially shut down, but now it is up and running fully, why would it continue to redirect you?

Is anyone else still having this issue?

I have no problems now, but that was due to the forced enty via host file, not flushing the dns cache Smiley
