To fully upgrade/have repair on the thing you're paying 180 mp, 75 muni and 35 fuel.
I like to compare this things role to a mobile lmg42 or a mg42.
At any comparison, I think the unit falls out. It's supression has been nerfed too much and its not doing enough damage to units charging it in the open

Honestly from my view they should just make its lockdown a toggleable ability, that would enable it to be more of a hit and run unit instead of having to fit in the PERFERCT spot every time, oh hey a barrle is in the way of where you want it? nope, want to place it next to a wall? well fuck you.
quite sure they made it in OMG which made it for a handy Supporting/scout unit without having a terrible flaw that made it a pain in the ass to operate.
Maybe also boost its gun rotation, so painfull to see it take half a day to turn 180°
but granted, it was nerfed due to that Annoying as Fuck Spam that some players ran.

It would be ideal.
The whole lockdown requirement was borked even in vCoh, you could build a 25pdr emplacement in some of the spots you couldnt lock down the scout car.

This coming patch we're only dealing with the potential annoyance of the basic scout cars being a bit too good at capping for what they're worth.
Good points on the MG scout car made though, I'm particularly a fan of changing how the ability is set up. Might consider reducing the pack-up time as well, in all fairness - there's no reason it should take longer to pack-up than an atg can kill it in two times over.

Tie it to the lock-down scout car, simple as. Regular scout car can still be the awesome little sniper counter that it is.

It's not the only* PE sniper counter, crazy. The shwim is great, is able to scout better, and cheaper to boot - but the scout car can do the job as well while being somewhat more troublesome to stop.

but whatever it's supposed to do, it's too expensive
since no pool + buff will make this unit a spam nuisance, i suggest redefining its role into a more expensive platform
i just can't for the love of god imagine what you'd want with this oversized jeep atm

Scout Cars are great Sniper and Support weapon hunters, they do a good job of slipping behind ATG's and mortars that haven't been properly protected.
They even start chewing up regular infantry too when released in packs of 2-3.
Also, a SC+AC pair will pretty much ensure the death of any Sniper caught in the open.
For 180 MP 20 FU it's a pretty good deal, the capping was just the icing on the cake.

I add: In a dreamworld where zooks isn't the most popular, prevalent EIRR infantry upgrade.
But honestly I could do a search back to me posting in 2008~ why the zook is so insanely good.
It's not your fault though. The zook is really hard to balance because it dances between little payoff - big payoff.

addendum: zook stats are unchanged for millenia and other than adding it to more units and making it a upgrade able to be carried alone with thompson.. it's just been mega popular for the entire eirr and staple for a lot of infantry doctrine and armor doctrine strats
