Is there a plan how to resurrect EIRR from the coma phase of 1-3 players in chat and arranged games only? I welcome these big changes like the repair system, but are doctrines or something else being worked on? I haven't been keeping up

So in a basic format.

Balance non doctrine units, shuffle base unit rosters, make sure nothing is OP or UP as much as possible.

Then comes balancing reward and doctrine units. Basically same as the first step

Then build doctrines off the existing now balanced pool of units. This eliminates trying to balance units throigh doctrines like they have been. There is a thread somewhere.

Light vehicles are currently being balanced into a nice state.

in addition to what Scotz said:

The next patch ( possibly as early as today ) will have a fix for the repair units that has been borking the game.

The following patch ( or it may be combined ) will feature the design changes we have made to LV's. The patch notes will include what has been changed and a brief explanation of the design philosophy behind it.

Once the LV's have been balanced ( play tested for a reasonable amount of time ) we will bring in the old doctrine units for balance.

are enough games being played so you can test whats balanced and what isn't? I reckon at this rate of games being played it will take ages. maybe by the time doctrines are back the mod will have dried up completely

For the sake of putting everything in one coherent post, here's how it's looking.

Current:

Fixing the remaining issues with R018 and making the new repair system concrete (It'll be watched over the coming patches and adjusted as required). As Tank pointed out, we're hoping to have this done as early as today, but we'll see how it goes.

Shortly upcoming (Hopefully with current):

LV patch which will have a fairly big overhaul of how LV's in EiRR currently work (They'll no longer be cheap do-it-all throw-away's). I can elaborate on this a bit more when the patch is released.

After that:

Medium vehicles and Heavy vehicles patch (Fairly few changes, as mediums are pretty solid and heavies don't need much to be right) this will be combined with opening up doctrine units/abilities for use - the bottom 9 doctrine selections for a company.

Following up:

After all that is done, there will be one last pass of any bits and pieces left over that we feel need to be adjusted (Panzer Grenadiers and Snipers spring to mind), as well as making a solid start on doctrine work.

I have deliberately not given a time frame on this. However, after R018 is fixed up, it's mostly RGD up until the start of main doctrine work and the pace can pick up.

Reward units are going to stay in limbo until we figure out wtf to do with them. In their current state they are utterly game breaking, so the way they work is going to have to change.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

the first 2 weeks after a new patch there are always quite a few games /day.

with the new rep system and changes to lv's i can imagine that phase to be even longer.
