Attitude of Forum Members
«
on:
April 27, 2008, 10:32:37 am »
Is it me, or is it when something happens on these forums involving a game, certain people start talking out of their ass and blatantly lying?
Take for example that locked topic "Aargh". It seems that people go explicitly out of their way to lie and undermine another players reputation.
I mean, we are all adults here (hopefully) and mature, why not act like it?
Discuss.

Forum attitude is like shit, and it is something that Ark is trying to monitor but when half of the "senior" members just laugh off his posts and don't take things seriously nothing happens. People don't want the forums to become as strict as RN but perhaps if we had thought out posts and not rants things would look better. There is a reason why rant topics are locked at RN...

Totally agree Mason, my respect for you, and your views continues to grow. Maybe other members/mods will wake up to this. (Yeah right)

Sure, let's continue to foster an "us vs them" atmosphere.

Newbie, im not attempting that. Im trying to estimate how the community thinks the attitude of the forum is, and see if we can remedy the big problems.

I am all for removing the us vs them attitude, that is not the type of community that people want to join.

Apologies, it may not have been your fault but it the responses thus far are leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

Saying things like this, then telling me you are never rude, doesn't exactly make a believer out of me. I'm not a mod. I'm the one that made this all happen, I deserve a little more respect than that. I didn't get it this far by not knowing anything about how to appeal to new players.

Your responses are fostering that attitude. Try cooperating with others instead of acting as if your attitude is any better, please.

I apologise if that is the attitude i am fostering, but being told by an authoritative figure that i was being rude, when that figure was taking someones word for it beggars belief. Especially, when this word comes from people wanting to get free xp and noob bashing, but thats ok right. They have been here longer.
I will say no more on the matter.

Newbie my post was directly from the responses in the "Dear Community" and "Dear Community again..." threads. A lot of people just seemed to view it as a "ha ha, yeah right" thread. I did not say all of the "senior" members had that attitude, and I'm not saying that the newer members are better, but from what I saw in those two threads showed me how many people view how to post.

Well being relatively new, I'd say it's more a select few people dragging it down than the majority of the senior players.
The twist is some days these people are fine, and then others it's blow the top time.
The majority are pretty down to earth, friendly and easy to get on with.
Same as most online communities.

There was no explanation offered to me other than that one (of you all being rude) so that's what one I took. And while I don't have proof, you were the one that 'won' in the end as I abandoned the game and made sure everyone knows the abandon rule is not set in stone. But, as you say, I'm completely unfair and have no idea what I'm doing..

I am not voteing. In the old times it was heaven compared to the current state, but it will get even worse the more players we get :I
You cant rate all, when there are only a few a**h***´s that make it look worse than it is.

I kind of figured everyones attitude is good, though I saw some retarded stuff on vent the other night, one player was making a general statement, while another took it as if he was talking directly to him and took offense to it, it was all pretty silly to me, but it escalated pretty quick for no real reason. Remember that all the rules of respect that go on in the forums should be abided as well on vent, even more so in fact because everyone else in the channel has to listen to the non-sense (til they find the mute button)

I voted good as well. I'm new to this mod but so far most people have been helpful and even when I had horrible router trouble they still helped me out.
