Haven't played an actual game yet, but I made a quick game yesterday night and the new backgrounds are very nice. Adds a nice personal touch to each nation. The revamped tech tree looks pretty interesting too.

since the thread maker is terminally lazy ( Tongue ) I took the time to search it out:
Quote
This is a quick Player's Guide:

- New Combat System
Combat is longer than Vanilla. Misc.txt and units combat parameters have been tweaked so that battles will last several hours or days in most cases. That means you now have to better prepare your army for battles. Speed is now a key factor for a successful blietzkrieg. As a hint, launch multiple attacks on a front so AI won't be able to send reinforces everywhere. Push harder where you want to actually break the frontline. Air-to-ground combat has changed too. Use missions to reduce enemy organization. That will make a difference in a combat. Command limits for air and naval generals have been changed from Vanilla.

- Resources events
Initial resources layout has been designed with 1936 historical data. Each year there will be plenty of resources events (but you will see only those for your country) that will change values in the provinces. The outcome will be a global changing resource economy following history.

- Armor units
These units are disabled for everyone at the beginning. This is for historical reasons as tanks were used for infantry support. After Germany has gone to war, therefore revealing the world how effectives tanks can be used for the blietzkrieg, armor divisions will be buildable.

- Elite Units
Elite units will be given via events only to Germany and USSR and are not buildable. They are regular units with a great amount of experience from the beginning. This will make them to perform better in battles. This simulates better training and equipment these units were granted.

- Militia/Garrison
Both are designed for partisan suppression. While Garrison has better suppression value, militia has mobility.

- Naval Conferences
There was a treaty between major naval powers in 1936. Its purpose was to balance the power of navies and to avoid an armaments race. In 1936 Japan and Italy didn't want to prolonge it after 1937. On the other hand USA, France and UK agreed to extend it. In game terms, Germany will have some naval restrictions until Rhineland occupation, due to Anglo-German naval agreement. For ITA, JAP, USA, FRA, ENG there are restrictions until you don't abandon the Treaty, which is simulated by a naval doctrine those countries have from the beginning. 24 hours after doing that an event will trigger releasing those restrictions. Be careful, while JAP and ITA can do that since 1937 with no penalties, USA, FRA and ENG will have to wait the start of WW2 or you will have some nasty side effects.

- News events
I designed these events with the purpose of giving historical feeling of what was going on before major international events, like the Treaty of Munich or the Anschluss.

I read that this makes the game super hard...Germany starting with 0 manpower and no one can make tanks?

I had a hard enough time playing and winning as is T_T

Not really, while it's true that germany, and especially the smaller nations, start off with a low amount of MP, germany gets significantly more over time. There's also a ton of new events & choices to make which affect your  resources, politics, etc.

Also, you can make research and build tanks early I believe, just not as a seperate division untill the start of the war. (So you can still purchase tanks as a brigade attachment for your infantry) This is to bring the game closer to the true historical situation.. I also don't even think this applies to germany because they are the ones who will show the rest of the world how powerful stand-alone panzer divisions can be.
(Before WW2, tanks were only used in an infantry-support role. )

There are some other major changes that Shoe's text doesn't talk about though.
- Graphical side of the mod being completely overhauled
- Many nations get less IC (Italy & most minor nations)
- Major changes in regards to the US  (For example, only restricted naval build-up untill the fall of France, so no infantry/armour right off the bat. The US can't just declare war in '39 for instance and invade Europe within the month)
- Tech tree rework
- A truckload of new events
- etc

History lesson go!

I'm fully aware of the historical situation, I was just worried about gameplay.

Edit: Also does anyone have a working way to make the resolution on this game higher? I get sick of the whole 800x600 nonsense. I tried using the res changer utility, but it's not changing it.

This mod hacks like god like...

I'm Germany playing sp going against "normal" AI

The year is 1942 Poland is taken over and the war is really starting to go against Germany.

I have 94 inf. Divisions, 31 mac. inf. Divisions, 6 Light Armor Divisions (PzIII's), 29 Armor Divisions (PzIV H's), 7 SS Panzer Divisions and 4 Panther support units.

I called on my home land Volk Divisions to save our homes from the Russians...

The Allies and Axis forces have teamed up to fight the Reds...

this is what I mean...
