The sound of the engine fill´s the inside of the Plane, while the 3./LL-Sturm-Rgt., 4. Kompanie, 1. Zug think about the orders they have recived from high command.
There target is the small village of Theses witch hold´s only a few grece milita troops or at least thats what the Intel. says.
Theses itself is a very small town that mainly lives from the olive groves around them, the sea that is in sight range and by selling the things they craft to travlers.
These are the orders;
1) Capture or destroy all enemy Anti Air weapons.
The assault will start after midnight and it is planed to send a secound wave of troops, supplys and close range air support at the first light of the morning.
2) Capture or destroy the fuel depot in the village.
The Luftwaffe has bombed the Illand for the last few days, focusing on there armored vehicles and fuel supplys to prevent them from moveing. The allyed commanders have therefore spread out there fuel on many smaller depots like the one in this village.
Observations fotos show that there are many tanks and trucks stoping in this village so there have to be a fuel depot hidden somewhere, maybe in the basement of one of the few buildings.
3) Hold the town and prevent all enemy vehicles from passing throw it.
To archive those targets the Squad will be paradroped into the olive grove´s outside of the town to then close in and ambush the enemys in the cover of the night. At the same time a glider loaded with supplys, a motar and a weapon crew will land and proivde fire support and light by useing flares.
There are still a few hours until the transport plane will arive and evryone trys to get ready for the upcomeing fight. Also there still has to planed what to do in detail after the landing.

// Has Apex told you where we going to land? and if yes, could one tell us?
Leutnant Ritter, showing his coolness to the whole platoon by sleeping in the plane, doesn't seem like developing a battle plan.
While some soldiers seem unsure, Obergefreiter Gerhard Böse checks his equipment.
'Nebelgranate, Handgranate, Mp, Pistole, oh, *reloading* phew -... Messer, Magazine, Streichhölzer. "
everthing seems to be in order, but he can't find his helmet.
Damn, didn't someone notice?
With a smile he hugs his grenade and lays it between his feet.
"We will rip them in the night Air!" He grins confidently.

Gefreiter Hans Deinhardt, sat nervously on the plan, wondering how the Leutnant (What was his name again? Gambe? He knows his name starts with a "G") could sleep enroute to the mission while on the plane. He nervously checked to make sure that he had all his equipment and had not forgotten anything as he used to. "
Ok... I have my Rations here... check, my Pair of gloves (Used for changing his Mg Barrel, he never like to touch hot glowing metal with his bare hands.)... check, his Knee Pads (German Paras at that time landed on their Knees and elbows.) and....
" he looked around frantically. "
Well looks like I won't have my elbow pads to jump with.
" He completed his mental checklist by making sure he had his trustly Luger and his Gravity knife. As he sat their wondering what is going to happen on his jump, he remembered something. "
Hey.... wasn't the Leutnant suppose tell us his battle plan while we were on the plane?
"

Stretched out over his cot in the airfield barracks, Heinrich Müller continued to review the proceeding operation in his mind as he lightly slept. His gruppe would not be in the air for several hours.

The click of Wolfgang’s knife being repeatedly flipped open was the only sound to cover the monotonous hum of the propeller. Each click somehow comforting, just like the repeated motion of opening the knife and closing it again. Why was nobody talking? Wolfgang slowly looked around, realising his clicking may become bothersome, but everyone was in their own world, the Leutnant even appeared to be sleeping. Wolfgang then initiated his own choice of checks, in order of importance; Knife, Cigarettes, Luger, Ear plugs, Rations.
I’m ready.

Are we on the plane or not? It seems that there is a contradiction between the posts above mine... Or are they written with different time frames in each character’s perspective? Please clarify.
THTB's post leads me to believe we are onboard the plan waiting to arrive at Crete.

The Feldwebel just sat on the bench inside the plane, his head leaning back against the wall. He liked the rumbling of the craft against his head. He closed his eyes, and hoped he would land safely. He had 2 No. 24 Stielhandgranaten with custom splittering, thanks to the base's Pioneers, strapped to his chest by a strip of cloth sewn to his uniform. A No. 39 Nebelhandgranate was attached to his chest in the same fashion. He carried 12 clips of ammunition on his person, 2 in each pouch of his bandoleer. His Walther was strapped to his hip, by means of a holster, he carried a total of 4 reloads. His gravity knife was in his boot, his assault rations located in his field pack, some medical supplies, and also cigarettes.
He had extra ammunition, rations, an entrenchment tool, and a camouflage smock located in his supply container that was to be dropped from the glider. He was prepared for the fighting about to begin, mentally, and physically. All he could do was wait, though he noticed that quite a few of the Schutzen were nervous, and hoped that one of them would not throw up. The clicking of Wolfgang's gravity knife was beginning to irritate him, but he figured it would do no good to berate his fellows just before a mission.

The low humming of the propellers made the world sound calm. The little movement of his seat was comfortable. He always liked to fly, it was somehow, relaxing for him. Hovering above the clouds, not caring for anything. Flying in an airplane was like being given a small taste of heaven to him.
There was another sound besides the slow humming of the propellers. The sharp clicking of a knife.
He opened his eyes and looked at his watch. Soon they would jump out of heaven into hell.
He looked around into familiar faces. The men keept themselves busy with something. Checking equipment, cleaning pistols, adjusting straps. Not that it hasnt all been checked, cleaned and adjusted before, but better to be sure, and it keeps the mind occupied.
There was no singing or hysteric talking, his men were too professional for that.
The Leutnant stretched his arms. "Are we there yet?" He asked. There was some chuckling and grinning.
Although looking asleep, Ritter was far from it. They would land on Crete soon.
He took a look at his platoon. His men were itching, ready for battle. They were all briefed on what to do. Late, that was true, but the counter spionage persisted on that. He was confident that they would succed.
Ritter laid back in his seat, and closed his eyes again. 1001 Battle plans ran through his mind, every little eventuality and how to respond.
But it was never possible to expect the unexpected.
"30 MINUTES" the pilot barked through the loudspeaker. Ritter sighted. Soon it would start.

"30 MINUTES" the pilot barked through the loudspeaker.
Damn. 30 Minutes still.
The anticipation was hell, Wolfgang turned to one of the undeniably nervous Schütze.
“Hey Bauer.” He nudged him. “We’re going to bring back a whole plane of olives, no?”
He simply gave a uneasy grin before turning back to facing dead ahead, preparing himself for the task at hand. The orders were clear, the mission was a heartbeat away, and yet, nothing was left to do but wait.
Damn. 29 Minutes Still.

And right he was...
The time is 0245 and the dropzone is close. The Soldiers stand up and the door is open. Then they hear the enemy anti air units fire and a stream of bullets rips throw the glider that was just ahead of them. "There goes your support Man, Good luck out there. Jump before they get us!"
The man jump out of the Plane landing spread out, but at the target zone (//as marked in the plan)
Gerhard Boese unlucky lands and crushes a small tree, takeing minor damage.
After the squad regrouped they quickly exchaned what they saw on the way down and have this general plan of the area;
The positions of the enemy soldiers is still unkown.
After regrouping and checking the equipment it seems that;
Dirk Protz, has lost a ammo bag (6 magazines)
Hans Deinhardt, is missing the MG34 biped as well as his Knee Pads and the canister with food.
Klaus Hoffmann was very unlucky since he lost a first-aid kit, 2x Benzedrine, map and his compass, but as he searched for them he finds a canister that seems to have been lost from the glider.
It contains two Panzerfaust100.
The Soldiers are of good moral since the jump worked out quite well and most of the equipment stayed intact. The Sound of the AA gun remindes them of there duty. There are still planes flying overhead, deeper into the land.

Sprinting across the tarmac amidst the rising din of aircraft props, Heinrich Müller approached his Stuka dive bomber.
"Good morning, Frederick!" he shouted over the engines of neighboring aircraft.
The man who occupied the rear seat of his plane waved his arm, turning back with a grin on his face. As Heinrich grasped the base of the canopy and hauled himself in to the cockpit, he noted with a certain measure of satisfaction that the whole gruppe was gearing up for combat again.
"Our kette is ready, Leutnant!" Fredrick shouted overhead. Going through preflight procedure, Heinrich waved off a belch of smoke as the plane's engine roared to life. He shifted the throttle as the plane lurched forward, while Fredrick secured the canopy overhead. Heinrich switched over the radio transmitter, proclaiming "Leutnant Heinrich Müller, prepared to depart."

Hans Deinhardt swore under his breath when he couldn't find the Bipod for the MG34 and will have to make due with out something stablize it. As he walked to the ralling point, he hope that maybe he can get his hands on one of the Tommies MGs and rip its Bipod or Tripod legging for his own usage. However for now, his MG34 is slightly crippled, but still functioning at least. He gather what the rest of the equipment he can still had (Entrenching Tool and Cooking materials) and met up with Leutnant and reported that he had his MG ready and accounted for (although slightly crippled).
Little did he know what was coming up....

"Crashed Glider, right north of objective A." The Leutnant was looking at the town through his binoculars. The burning glider was a glowing contrast to the rest of the night. "We have to check it for survivors later."
He turned towards the rest of his platoon, kneeling in the dark inside the staging are, ready to move out. Although it was full moon, he could barely see their camouflaged silhouettes. "Deinhardt, that mg34 will have to do. You will only give covering fire from now on. If you can, find an appropriate bipod somewhere on the way." Deinhardt acknowledged.
"We go as planned. Protz, you take some ammo from the command squad which stays at the CP. After capping the first objective, I want you guys to silence that AA-gun. Then we move on as planned. Feldwebel, one Panzerfaust stays at the CP, you distribute the other one, they will come in handy. Try to stay in radio contact. If anything happens, Hoffman is in charge. I want voice disipline from here on. Don't let the enemy know where you are."
Ritter looked at the glider again. He saw the yellow flames curling themselves high towards the sky. Then he looked back to his men.
"First Platoon, move out."

The Squad savely moves though the olive tree´s, there steps dont draw any attention since the constant fire of the AA fills the night. The are able to advandce to the "Command Post" that is marked on there map.
The road is in front of them and now they have to choose if they want to just run over it, being exposed and without cover or if they shoud use a nebelgranate to make sure they dont get hit, but draw even more attention.
A crossing futher away from the village is also a possiblity, but it woud take time. Time they dont have, that AA gun has to go down as soon as possible.

//Wikipedia states the development of the Panzerfaust began late 1942.
Whatever, it's even unrealistic to start at night
.
//We already gathered our equipment? Wow, I need a carrier!
Gerhard Böse cursed himself for laying the grenade between his feet, he just grabbed it befor jump and now it was broken.
His left ear is bleeding a little, but he is confident to find a matching helmet after their first encounter.
The equipment weights heavy on his shoulders and has has really no ambition to think about such things now.
Orders are given and Boese is confident it will work out for him.

In reaching the road, Deinhart looked at the enemy position across the road and back. "Sir." Dienhart whispered "If I can have my say in this, I think it best if just crawl across the roadway, although we will be exposed, I think we have a fair chance in make across without being spotted." The Gefreiter waited for the Feldwebel answer while the 20mm AA gun's tracers were flying in the air.

Hoffmann nodded in agreement, and said, "good idea, one at a time, I'll go first." Hoffmann crawled across the road, his squad members watching with tense expressions in fear of their leader being killed.
After he made it through, he motioned for the others to follow.
