This is the changelog from the latest balance patch going in shortly, items in bold will affect EIR

[2.402] Balance Playtest Patch Coming Soon....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

v2.402 06/06/2008

Fixes
- Fixed some building locations on Angoville Farms
- Fixed a control point issue on Beaux Lowlands.

Gameplay
- US mortar teams can use US halftracks as transports.  This is an interesting change... Might just be a fix, anybody know?
- British Sten SMGs are less effective (damage from .75 to .6, accuracy from .85 to .Cool vs Infantry_heroic target type (Knights Cross Holders)
- Wehrmacht Stug/Stuh with Armoured Skirts benefit from the same front armour improvements as regular Stugs. This refers to the different armor class - might not affect EIR since skirts are only purchaseable at vet3
- Wehrmacht Stug main gun tracking speed increased from 15 to 30 degrees per second.this is a big change - It essentially doubles the speed at which stugs are able to settle in to take shots - One of the most common complaints about the Stug is its long aim time and its number of mis-fires, this change will decrease those mis-fires dramatically
- US Bazooka damage modifier reduced vs Wehrmacht Halftracks, 234 Armoured cars, M8 Greyhounds, US M3 Halftracks from 1.2/1.25 to 1. Another nerf to bazookas vs. light vehicles.... I really have no idea why they're messing with bazookas and not RRs
- US Bazooka movement accuracy modifier is reduced from .8 to .75 vs light armoured vehicles.  This means it will hit an extra 1 time out of 20 shots fired.... counters the damage nerf a bit but it's a 5% accuracy increase with a 25% damage decrease....
- Wehrmacht 234 Armoured car max speed set from 6.4 to 7.0  Puma's getting even faster.... For reference, a Bike is top speed 7.2
- Panzer Elite Infantry Halftrack MG42 is less effective vs units in light cover. Damage is reduced from 1.0 to .75
- Rifle fire penetration vs British Mortar Pits and Howitzers increased from .5 to 1.0
- Machine gun penetration vs British Mortar Pits and Howitzers increased from .25 to .5
- Panzer Elite Wirbelwind suppression reduced from 0.05/0.05/0.08/.1 to 0.02/0.02/0.05/0.075. Suppression vs suppressed targets also reduced from 1.25 to 1.1
- Panzer Elite Wirbelwind suppression vs units in light and heavy cover reduced from .75/.5 to .25/.10.
- Panzer Elite 250 Funkwagen Vampire acceleration increased from 4.5 to 6
- Axis Firestorm rockets arrive more quickly after smoke markers land. Reduced min/max timers for shell arrival times. A needed buff, firestorm is a little silly right now with roughly 7 seconds from ability activated to its first rocket hit, 3 seconds after smoke drops.
- Removed a set suppression modifier that was applying to retreating squads on Churchill Tank Shock.
- Churchills will face their targets to perform their Tank Shock ability and get increased weapon suppression to compensate for removed set suppression action.

Thoughts?

STUUUUUUUUUG SPAAAAAAM.

Seriously though the stug needs help in vcoh but not against tanks, the reason no-one uses stugs is because no-one uses shermans and it sucks vs infantry.

The mortar change is kinda weird as well, I sense using HTs as mortar protection Shocked

Increase stug price if patch is released to retail, because they are getting too good for their cost.

Well keep in mind that all this is subject to change of course.

The HT thing is funny, because I actually always assumed mortars could drive in HTs, and tried driving one in a HT about two days ago and was disappointed. But alas, I will be able to after this patch! Stug armor skirts is good as well. And oh man, the tracking speed is a gift from the gods!

But zooka damage vs light vehicles is dumb! I think their damage output is fine, they should increase accuracy by at least 10-15% if they are nerfing the damage.

And puma speed change? Wha?! Who the hells been complaining it's too slow?

US Bazooka movement accuracy modifier is reduced from .8 to .75 vs light armoured vehicles.

Doesn't this mean it will hit less often?

No Jack, the modifier refers to how much their accuracy changes while moving, I believe.

Ah, so its like an inverse modifier. Where 1 means a complete deviation? And 0 means no change if the target is moving?

You take the weapons base *whatever* (be that damage, accuracy etc) and times it by the multiplier or 0.x would be less and x.x would be higher.

(x > 0)

Am i right?

Why can't axis mortars ride in axis HTs?

Why can't axis mortars ride in axis HTs?

Might be because they're the 'larger' mortar of the two, although I'm not entirely sure there.

You're right, why allow US mortars to go in HTs and not axis mortar  Huh

Also can anyone change this statement.

- British Sten SMGs are less effective (damage from .75 to .6, accuracy from .85 to Cool vs Infantry_heroic target type (Knights Cross Holders)

to

- British Sten SMGs are less effective (damage from .75 to .6, accuracy from .85 to .8 ) vs Infantry_heroic target type (Knights Cross Holders)

It looks silly with the smiley face =)
