Scientology is nothing more than just another scam.
Its really no different than any other con targeted at people who don't know any better, ie tricking the elderly into forking over their life savings.
I don't condemn them for their beliefs, as ridiculous as they may be to me, however I condemn their practices and the fact that they prey on people with emotional issues and the gullible.
Paying to be a part of a church is like paying to be in a frat, its all about wanting to feel accepted and part of something.

Robertson and Falwell are not Christians, don't confuse them as such. They are hatemongers, obsessed with their own wealth and power. True christanity does not condemn people for being gay, muslim etc. Evangelicals like Falwell just use religion as a means to make themselves rich. It usually is all about money, some people just use religion to justify itself to themselves. |

The war on Scientology will fail because most of the protesters were introduced to 4chan specifically because of the news coverage on the protests. So now most of them don't even know why they're there, and they spout off internet memes like it's cool or something.
Next time there's a protest near you guys, go to it as a passerby, and ask a few of them why they're there. I guarantee you'll facepalm.jpg more than once.

Not that I support Scientology, but who are a bunch of fellow basement nerds to declare what is and what isn't a religion? Just because you have to give something to get in?
You have to give something to get into anything: time, effort, money or work.
It's one thing to protest any violence or whatnot being perpetrated by a group...but this anti-censorship that 4chan is QQing about is pure bullshit.
Most of scientology is copyrighted and they have every right to protect it from non-buyers just as an author of a book has every right to sue someone electronically distributing their book without paying.
