http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=196728

That link has footage of the new firestorm (in the playtest beta, scroll down a bit for the youtube links) and it is quite nasty. I do believe that the DOT dammage is a bit high since it can basically destroy buildings with 1 rocket hit then the burn time. Looks like it might be quite interesting.

I may just get Firestorm instead of Omniscience now.

Edit:  Just checked, Defensive only has Rocket Arty.  Sad

lol I saw the firestorm video, it will finally kill things now Tongue

I felt like the rockets were less numerous, but seems to have more splash and more damage.

Also the drop speed of those rockets seems to be slower

Another reason to not use a V1  Cheesy

Seriously, is the V1 going to get some kind of buff or something? It comes later then firestorm, has the longest cool down, longest drop time, and now, is going to be less powerful then firestorm.

Another thing I noticed is in the RelicNews forums everyone was saying blitz and defensive will need love now... man people are stupid. How about instead of buffing everything else, just tone down firestorm lol.

WOOHA that Firestorm looks great. One more reason to go for Terror.
Finally some usable Axis offmap Arty.

Yes that is true, they reduced the fuel cost to something like 75 fuel I think, but don't quote me on that.

WOW! 5 fuel less!  OMG OP!
NERF!
So the firestorm isn't useless anymore? sweet.
Thouth this is far from balanced, they should add supression and half the damage, and it'd be still a viable weapon.
It's not meant for destroying bases.

I just tried this out.
1 firestorm destroyed the USA HQ and a supply depot.  That is all that was there for it to hit, and it made quick work of them.

but the V1 is for taking out buildings, firestorm doesn't need to do the same thing, but apparently better.

Riki Firestorm has needed a huge buff for a LONG time. It was generally agreed upon to be the worst off map there was due to the excessive delay(what was it 9 seconds?) from when you clicked to when the first shell hit. V1 is still much better for the cost, firestorm will just be usable now.

firestorm does a good job taking out stationary targets and it gets no warning that it's coming. I've lost quite a few howitzers to firestorm (and v1 :shivers:) Ya it's the weakest but it's compensated by the fact that there are no flares like with the off-map artillery (which is stupid imho)
