Huh?  I'm confused as to what you're complaining about, or whether you're just trying to be a dick.

I think you're just being a dick making this comment to a new player Wink.

And I agree with what apex said, minus the part about exploiters & drophackers as I do believe those things shouldn't be discussed in public Wink. (As they're rarely discussions, generally just flame fests)

completely agree with unknown and thats why they are closed.  Dash put that hard rule in place a long time before we were moderators, we're just carrying on that line of thought.

Akranadas, don't start a fight here.

I think this thread has run its course.

Bottom line is we moderate.  If you don't like something we do, please PM us about that specific instance and we will discuss it via PMs.

Thank you.

I think people would enjoy more freedom when they post in general and thats the issue. Its not about allowing us to flame, post crap or
whatever.

Its about not locking something you alone dont like, and its been clear in some previous circumstances. Its about allowing a discussion to evolve and fuckin flourish for once in these parts. :p

What are these the McCarthy times ?

I agree with Shultz, most of the time (unless its a flame thread) a post is closed because one of the mods doesnt like it, that  a lone is not justification for locking the thread.  The "general" category should be more freely moderated than it currently is, which is where all the problems are arising from.

Does not veer into arguments about race, politics, nationality, religion, or history
Arguments or debates? If people are debating and some get out of line you should first warn them and if they persist they should have their posts deleted. Debates are a cohering and civil need, this forum is not important in the grand scheme of things but if we did not debate then we would still be submitting to ecclesiastical bullshit instead of acceding science.

In laymans terms; without debate we would not have computers to then have a debate on. The mods need to stop locking topics and start using their other powers like deleting posts that offend the rules.

problem with deleting posts is people hate that more then a locked thread and will scream murder.

moderation is a thankless job.  sometimes people can moderate badly, we're human, i think..  But a lot of the stabler times.. we do a good job.

You see on my Forum (well i got all the Admin rights on it at least Wink ) we just remove any kind of (even if subtle) insulting and if a discussion goes off-topic we just split it from the main Thread.

We dont lock anything and then leave a phile of our personal opinion in it.

*Also editing a post is much better than completly removeing it, pointing out the error the poster made.

Here i give you a chance to train your ablitys:

i thought these forums were a place to express your feelings but everytime someone does it either gets locked or deleted. whats the point of having a GENERAL Discussion forum if you are just gonna lock peoples posts?
ok i can understand many of your various reasons.

You know what? The majority of people living in America are immigrants from Europe from WWI/WWII era. So I'm actually not offended by the cartoon because my family arrived at Ellis Island in the 30's from Poland and my mother's side arrived from Ireland when my Great Grandfather had to be snuck out of the country (that tends to happen if you are a General in the IRA...)

"General in the IRA..." Lol, General in the IRA... Don't try to understand that local group, one that has just been dis-admined. Bodybag, I don't mean to be in doubt of you but that for me is hard to believe. I am not a seminarian, I do wish to have evidence before I believe. Do you mind extending your great grandfathers name; I can visit my university's history faculty to have this claim substantiated.

(Unless you where joking)
