Stop locking threads completely, delete the thread that needs to be deleted and send a PM saying why...its not fair to those of us that try to have a conversation and have it locked due to a single, or a few asshats.  If that is too much work for you guys, then Im sorry, but give mod rights over to someone else, because Moderating is more than just locking a thread when you feel it is out of order.
