Allies have never been easier to play in EIR. They still aren't.

Now they are (spam inf as inf, spam shermans as armor and spam airborn)

A inf player that reached t4 and has some vet on his units can simply spam his cheaper rangers and rifles and beat evrything with them, In the game I just played i saw single ranger squads rush a hmg and take it out without loseing more then 1 man.

Rangers killing there own counter. With 1 unit. (that then went back to heal up at the cheapest Triage you have ever seen). They lost 1 man. They did not approche from a "blind" side or heavy cover.
Just run up to it, press fireup and win.

Also reflected in the w/l rations.

HMGs are not a counter to fire-up.

Ok, tanks in general are quite good as bazookas arn't up to much (especially if the rangers have thompsons because then hey sometimes quickly drop a bazooka or 2).
Depending on if they have thompsons grenadiers can take them out - I don't know what would happen with thompson rangers v 2x lmg grens, its a similar amount of munitions.
Assualt grenades probably do quite well.

They can simple out run the assault nades (out fireup) and can beat grens in a head on fight anyway...

Tanks vs Rangers, sure, it may work as well as pumas vs rr´s... or not.

I would say lmg grens are the best counter to rangers. I don't think rangers have a hard counter, every counter takes skill/micro but things like ostwinds and lmg grens can devastate them.

There are many ways to counter Rangers.

My favorite method though it may not be as valid anymore is HMG + Sniper. The Sniper picks off the Ranger squad while the HMG forces them to use fire up while your Sniper runs back to secondary position.

Alternatively, I use a HMG + Pioneer combination. The Pioneers with Flamethrowers will toast the Rangers while the HMG once again, forces them to use Fire-Up. Usually I like to lay down a mine as well.

Anykind of heavy-medium armor can put a hurting on Rangers. All you need is decent micro and something to keep them from flanking the tank such as a HMG or a few squads of infantry.

Now the most effective method is probably stringing two HMGs together. This means the Ranger squad will be exposed to fire even if you ungarrison one HMG to dodge a grenade. Building on this, drop a bunker and that'll effectively cancel out their Grenades.

Rangers cost 330 MP, 90 MU + 140 MU for the Thompsons. This effectively puts them at 330 MP, 230 MU, 7 Pop which is pretty expensive considering a pair of HMG can really rip them apart.

If they got SMGs: take one HMG to make them fireup, then use a sniper.
Or the other way around.
Theres no easier way of making a sniper worth it's resources than by killing SMG Rangers.
By now 2 KCH squads are a costeffective solution.
Volksspam (or grens) will work.
Dual HMGs.
HMG + LMG.
Ostwinds.
Oh I just remembered you won't read this anyways Smiley
But Snarks said everythign already.

Killed 2 squads of rangers 1 with smgs the other without by focus firing on the smgs with an MP40 squad.

Allied infantry (including rangers) isn't supposed to have a direct, strong counter. They are supposed to be decent vs everything. Snipers do work well though, because only 4/6 of the squad can actually have a decent chance of doing something to the sniper. Of course, now snipers are pretty unviable. Still, KCH, LMG grens and MP40 volks do well enough. I would not recommend using Pumas. For some reason bazookas seem to shred pumas, much better than RR's. Regular shitty volks will out-attrition rangers enough anyway, though maybe grens actually are more efficent now, cause of the stupid high cost of volks (I think rifles are overpriced, too). TBH buildings are the best counter to rangers. SMG's suck vs buildings.

I tend to disagree. I still use a single sniper in my company, works well, varying from 15 to 60 kills per game on average.

Bull. I've had my vet 2 Stormies instagibbed by a 3 man ranger squad and the zooks did all the work. One salvo = 2 dead stormies. Next salvo = dead stormy squad. What are the fucking chances of 2 bazookas each instagibbing a stormtrooper 2x. *sigh*  Angry

Chances are very bad. Bazookas more useful for killing their cover.

I still use snipers too, but you can't expect to keep one the whole game against decent players. They aren't really something you call in just to counter one blob of rangers, atleast not anymore.

mp40 volks definitely do not work. I've found that ostwinds are probably your best bet. Its kind of absurd that vetted rangers can roll over everything. The problem really isn't there damage output (smgs are expensive and only useful at close range) but the fact that they just don't die!

Yea but a pair of HMGs cost 210 more manpower, and have to be set up the right directions. Not to mention a single fire up + grenade rapes atleast one machine gun. (two if there not in buildings)
