Suppressive volley fire is a G43 ability, so I dunno what the OP is refering to.
Maybe he's reffering to the BAR suppresion fire, but it's about as OP as axis HMGs are. Hey, I know, let's nerf the BAR to actually decrease the firepower of a unit, any enemy it shoots with suppresive fire on would get buffs equal to FTFL, and the axis HMG shoot medikits.

Do the axis have shit tons of arty to clear out the Hmgs?

No its not necessary to sneak a pak and several storm trooper squads behind to kill their calliope if the game is already over.

sorta. their mortars are pretty good at clearing out hmg's, as are nebls and stukas and stuhs, which are beast at clearing out any type of support weapon, then you have tigers and kt's which are kind like mobile at since th ey're really good at killing, well, anything.

SF with its insane cooldown is already really limited to 1.

Not if you take a heavy mg / mortar / atg, the timer will reset then, i believe.

Yea but then you have only 1 BAR instead of 2 reducing your ability to properly use SF.

I thought a BAR upgrade gave 2 BARs to the squad off the bat, not 4?

Yeah but that doesn't really effect it, i mean, that's only a few seconds more what is needed to suppress. It's the ability that effects it.

Roll Eyes No it's not, use cover, don't group multiple squads together attacking BARs, avoid negative cover, listen for SF, etc.

Only if they're blobbed or if you switch targets to a different squad once the first is suppressed. (Which is not going to be as effective as using the entire SF on one squad/blob mind you)

Yep, just tested it in vcoh, it suppresses the squad you have targeted but you can switch target once one squad is pinned. Anyway it does not suppress blobs, unless you manage to click on all the units once they are pinned eheh. I have just suppressed and pinned two stormies squads today in a game. Pinned squads receive less damage and unless they are volks or out of cover you will rapidly need support or pinned squads would stall your barifles. Btw they are a must upgrade if your opponent has fielded grenadiers or vet infantry.

it used to suppress an area but now it will only suppress 1 target at a time no matter how close they are to each other. So switching is the only way to suppress more than one.
