Looking back on 2008 for EIR...

Bastion (6)
February
We hope to be releasing a 2.0 beta in the next two weeks. This will release will incorporate both OF factions, the Panzer Elite and the British. In addition, it will move us to a new website and incorporate new features such as single resource purchasing, the rating system, and a new feature called 'War Points'.
As many of you have seen, in-game development of 2.0 is well-underway.
I've just performed a staffing re-alignment. Basically the balance team positions have been eliminated
This is just a small update on 2.0 development... It's going quite well, several hurdles have been overcome that were slowing down the process quite a bit. And just to keep you occupied, feel free to talk about the following image which is an early version of the Macromedia Flash War Map...

March
It's called the ANTS (Anti-Team Stacking) system
You will now no longer be able to stack teams and play games if your w% is too far off from your opponents.
April
Just for the information of the public:
As of now, there will be no more patches. Additionally, the doctrines as you know them will cease to exist when 2.0 comes out, so no need to make suggestions on how to tweak them. Actually, that pretty much applies to the balance and gameplay as well. =P
This is being done in preparation for 2.0.
That's right, Unkn0wn is working on another map and this time it's a remake of my old 1vs1 map, Nuenen.
Nuenen is a small rural community in Holland, now with the proper models Smiley.

ANTS...its gone, who do we thank?

Keep up the great job your doing on EIR Salan!
Okay i understand balance... But who the f*ck change game completly without asking anybody. It changed to tank spam. And now allies are OP.
salan has been re-instated as the balance lead due to requests. Whether he accepts or not is another question. I hope that he will form a true team of many differing opinions to further the balance of EIR until the release of OMG.
October
I do not believe in this community any longer.
After 6 videocasts, 5 tutorials, 5 full movies advertising EIR, a war tournament, a full war campaign (the last stand) a second one which is finished and ready to be played (the last stand 2), countless of hours discussing balance in a rational manner, and getting to know the majority of the community at one time or another and helping them endlessly.
I am done.
Seriously. EIR isn't going anywhere. OMG is continuing development... It will be released soon (I think) and EIR and OMG can exist together... If Ucross and I ever pick back up development on EIR you will be the first to know. As of now that's all there is to say...
I am though shocked at how well this community seems to be able to rip apart this mod or is on the verge of it.
So, this is a message to both Salan, and those who are creating the EiR emulation. Get your shit straight. If you cannot get along, this community will dissolve. If you aren't going to even try to get along, get the fuck over yourself and put the community ahead of your power trip.
November
After being approached by a member of the community, whom I will not name, I've turned over development to him.
