It's not about feelings being hurt. In the end, it may have been for the best given that EiR and OMG are branching in two directions. Following the data it's rather clear that they are diverging more and more with each bit of development.

As just a member of the community, I don't wanna see an us-vs-them mentality get propagated. That's sorta what I see happening here.

agreed. Draygon is one of the head developers on omg as well. while most of them dont play eir, draygon still does and i wish more people would follow that.

oh yeah, get to voting guys, Botb is #1 right now and EIR is 2...omg is 3 :rolls eyes: not even released in 2008!!!

From someone who was probably more involved in both the creation of OMG ( Myself and unknown started TLS, which spawned OMG, and I even created OMG's ATS and Availability (an adjusted ucross system) systems for them at the very start) and the continuance of EIR (having taken on the role of running EIR openly, and quitting, and helping behind the scenes from the very start with lucifer) I believe I have a bit of perception on these developments and peoples opinions on them.

I think that people have had a right to distrust EIR in the past to a degree, It hasn't progressed in any innovative manner since the doctrine changes in 1.7, and that is coming up to a year ago soon.  EIR also went through a dev crisis before, and during my time of helping run it.  People also have a reason to dislike OMG for the fact that a lot of what they state is exaggeration and out right miss-truth on HOW they came about and how they continue to progress through that.   But really, why should we harp on these things any longer?

Ultimately, the mods are alike, very much so.  Hopefully they will continue to become completely different entities and each dev team will go a different direction and create a much more enjoyable experience for the WHOLE community by co-existing together and giving us all two different distinctive games to play at our leisure.

I myself have not yet tried OMG, I have been too busy with life, EIR:R, trying out the chinese COHO beta, and ultimately preparing a slew of EIR:R press releases which will start filtering out as soon as I finalize some of the video renderings.

The lack of information on EIR:R and visual representation of the in game changes is coming to a end, very soon. this criticism has been heard, and I am working hard to produce some hard footage/info for you to delve into.

But they are upcoming. OMG didn't even release until 2009, and the competition is 2008 mod of the year.

Logically, it would make sense that we be in upcoming, since it didn't release in 2008.
