Weird fact:

Most players hate getting their tanks engine damaged and know how painfully big a target the tank becomes for a swift death.

2nd weird fact:

But they do not aknowledge the insane utility of being able to inflict engine damage for from long range on a allied tank?

Many of the german tanks which are prime sticky targets are targets because they become incredibly slow and often don't have a turret. An M10 that has engine damage is a lot less effected than a Tiger or King Tiger for which engine damage is certain death.

Allied tanks usually have less health so engine damage is easier to repair (british also have the highest repair rates iirc). Coupled with the higher base speed of allied tanks means escaping with engine damage and coming back quickly is easier.

Stickies also do quite a lot more damage:
30-25DMG for an ATHT
100-150 for a sticky bomb
@ 0.6 a second
So that's 3-4 minutes, get a bergetiger and you drop it to about a minute and a half at a cost of 6 pop.

Because that's totally fair right?
The Brit repair specialists have 0.9 health a second, that's a bit over 30 seconds to repair it and they complain it's op? Give me a break. If they supported their tanks like how is necessary for all axis players they wouldn't have that problem. Shermans blob and rambo, so do cromwells. What did they expect? Tongue

So essentially ATHT's are easy to counter, have engineers handy, support a tank and you can quickly repair the damage, the axis then have an ability which is easily countered and takes up 5 pop, only unsupported tanks are easy prey to the ability. If you had a single 57mm near the tank when the ATHT came, it'd die without getting it's tread breaker off, like I said the bad/average players in EiR just don't support their tanks as allied, they deserve to get immobilised and learn their lesson.

For 95mu, 50fu and 275mp you get a 45 range sticky, versus a 17 range sticky (22 with vet) which costs only 200mp and 85mu. The stickies have a shorter cooldown and can effectively kill/neutralise all of the light armour that PE rely upon. We should nerf them Tongue.

There is other 'benefits' of sticky bombs the fact that allied tanks can rampage without fear of axis infantry and can easily spot the AT elements, whilst the opposite isn't true, axis tanks must learn to fear any rifleman squad.

If it wasn't for the desperate lack of anti tank weaponry in PE, you would never see the ATHT anymore.

The ATHT has little interim usage once it's fired it's treadbreaker.

M10s rely heavily on speed, without it they're sitting ducks and even easier targets than say tigers and king tigers.

i hope the DEVs will understand now why treadbrakers are meant to be treadbraking..poor

I'm maily axis, I can assure you, ATHTs are worth their money right now.
And if it's just for focusfire, but meh, engine damage at range is still extremely useful and only barely more expensive than a sticky.

I was talking about the unit stats only.

Tetrarch´s penetration, honestly, is insane, speed is the least of my worries.
I really don´t know, literally, nothing about its stats, but I saw 1 of them kill my stug shooting at its frontal armor so easily... I was like "Wtf does those fucking shells have inside?"... churchills can´t penetrate it but a a tetrach can lol?

A tet survives 2 tiger shots without any kind of critical damage. Stuart dies to 2 shrek shots.
My tet just survived 2 flak 88 shots (PE) with Main Gun destroyed, when it wasn't at full health in the first place. Stuart, yet again, dies to 2 shrek shots.
The tet has simply epic speed, health, damage(3 shots a stuka, M10 can't say the same) and penetration(with little john adapter). I love it.
Admitedly, it gets raped by paks ^^.
I'm gonna unlock the commando reinforcement just to get 2 extra tetties. It'll be worth it.

probably just my bias, but i've never found that much off with tetarchs

sure, well micro'd they can take out light vehicles and harass tanks, but that generally means the rest of your troops are unattended while your scooting around enemy lines. that, and they are more expensive than stuarts, which are probably more effective (although i realise that you are paying for it's glider-liciousness rather than the power of the tank itself)

Tetrarch > Stuart at everything, including anti-infantry.
Unless the Stuart gets canister round, but even then, canister round is very much a gamble if it'll kill a lot, or kill 2 guys.
