Do you only get to 'battle' or do you actually get to play on the warmap as well?
The campaign is my favourite part to be honest, sometimes I just end up skipping battles Tongue.

I was playing the total war series before i found coh and always wish some modders could code a multiplayer campaign for people ot play.
I dunno why noone ever tried.

I think they done something of the sort with napoleonic total war, but it was a mini campaign.

Just imagine Eir on the ancient times :p

I'd mainly want to play the campaign part online, plenty of games that do that though Smiley.

Yeah, WW2 doesn't really fit into the TW motif. Smaller, more autonomous squads is a normal RTS deal, TW works with big battalions. The US Civil War is probably the latest you'll see a TW game.

Your both wrong. WWIV: Total War.

Einstein- "I do not know what weapons WWIII will be fought with, but WWIV will be fought with sticks and stones."

Hey FYI guys there is now a mod for the demo that allows you to play as the Americans and to build emplacements, deploy your troops, add firing drills, etc:

Yup!  Apparently the number of unit cards is not hardcoded, so people have moded in more than 20 units under the player's control.

3 days to go, pretty excited. This is supposed to be the best Total war yet. Although they always say that.

I love the idea of the game and all.. I think its extremely awesome how they've done a lot of these things... Though drawbacks I saw in the demo are as followed imo

- Runs shitty with a 3.2ghz qx6700, 640mb 8800 GTS, 4 GB ram ( I couldn't believe how choppy the game was. It was unbelievable)
- Unit pathing is horrible
- Response time is very crappy.

It's not like playing an RTS at all.. combat is so slow it's like being in an actual war from that time period. But I pre-ordered anyway so I'll have to suck it up.

I like the naval battles actually. It reminds me of Age of Sail II, but with a helluva lot bettter graphics. People are actually animated and not little pegs moving around. You watch splinters and people fly everywhere, masts breaking and falling off, and the way they sink is pretty cool aswell. Though it did irk me when I had the Flying Dutchman... A ship was completly covered in holes, his bottom was shot out, it looked like it was friggin floating in the air! The damn ship never sunk! It just surrendered at the end when I sent 5 British heavies after it, instead of when the one on one was going on.

@Scyntos

Are you sure you have your system configured correctly?  My game plays pretty smooth on:

Quadcore Q6600 @ 3.2GHz
GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB
2x1GB DDR2 1000
Windows XP SP2

Sorry for going against your rules, but I was nitpicking a part of what you said.

No you're good  the key word is

1. Thou shalt not quote the entirety of a post 3 or less posts above you

Quoting a small piece is the correct use of the quote feature!

And yes it is the factory overclocked evga edition.
