Wow, what a coincidence, I just started replaying Close combat 2 days ago.
I am playing CC4 battle of the bulge which is the older version of that pictured one. I have CC5 which is Utah, but I don't play it much because the Germans have a bunch of nasty looking occupation vehicles lol.
2 was good but I played it too much and I really like using airstrikes and artty bombardments.
The Stuka in CC4 takes 30 minutes to reload after firing 6 shots. I have battle times set to 15 minutes max lol.

Ohgodyesplease. CC4 was the funnest one IMO, even if this is just a remake with better multiplayer support I'd be all over that.

Step out of the way. He'll keep going until he hits a wall, that being Akranadas. Let him go unmolested, his journey will take less time.

If anyone wants to play The original 4 or 5 post because I would love to play a campaign or some single battles.
I think you have to connect through IP for the originals though.

NEW?!?! Holy fucking christ on the cross
I was desperately tying to find somewhere to get CC4 a couple months ago with no success.
Close Combat is the shit. The reason I got CoH was because some review likened it to Close Combat. That's what sold me. Sure enough (Though the differences are vast) it was the closest anything had come to matching the fun I had with Battle of the Bulge and The Russian Front.

Mysthalin got smackedowneth by Akranadas. Btw if anyone is looking for really old games check out http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage/ Good old games. I bought freespace 2 from there for 10 USD and downloaded all the extra fan made material, totally awesome.

I love CC, but only played II & V. I'm getting this one, though it is quite expensive (42 euro here). At least I'm pretty sure it'll be worth it! Hours of fun!
Where do you guys gather?

Gather? Well I haven't played mp yet but I gather in the ventrilo channel.
Also there are a lot of mods out for these games though it is a little confusing to set them up.
I got the Stalingrad mod for 5 it is pretty cool, especially the new planes.

I'm not against developers getting paid for their work. I AM however, against people being put through extortionate prices for something that's 200 old, and is only a game. I mean, there's a lot of companies that release their old games for free - namely Id software, which releases almost new games, and their source codes, for free. Other companies reduce the prices, or even sell the games for nominal prices(1 Euro, 1 pound etc.). I'm yet to see a game as old as CC to be put at 55 AUD :S.
