Ok, I love the Churchies, all of them, but this one needs serious help.
Inability to kill armor or infantry makes it....not so useful. Still it does have heavy armor making it take longer to die.
The things it excels against currently are light vehicles, but they can just run. Buttoning helps with that problem a bit but still, these tanks are really subpar compared to the P4 or Sherman in terms of usefulness in EIR.
It just does not support infantry well, and it cannot go it alone like most other tanks, nor can it successfully engage enemy armor.
Needs to be able to hit enemy infantry to a decent degree, similar to Sherman, Cromwell, or P4.

u have to stop the tank, then shoot
a church should not be as good as a sherman with killing inf, that would be a panther against infantry.

All brit tanks sux imo. Stuart - no comments
Cromwell- something between m8 and sherman (can't hit infantry sux against other tanks), good thing - it's fast
FF- low armour, only good against tanks
Churchill- high hitpoints, but shitty atack power
All of their units are strong in one area but decent or shitty in other areas.

the MarkIV was armed with the 6pdr.. so ya, it wont do that well against infantry.. its base penetration and damage is 87.5, like all the other normal tanks in game...
The mark VII is the one you would want, same gun as the Crommie, and a hell of alot more armor that would allow it to run run thru shit...

The other option would be to improve its AT performance, or armor.
It actually did carry more armor than a Tiger, and the 6dr was a great AT weapon vs medium German armor.
If nothing else is possible, lower its costs to P4 levels and increase its availability to match the other medium tanks.

I agree with this, when I was playing my royal engs a lot I bought 2 churchills before i realized it was a big waste of my resources and time. Like stated it does well against light vehicles, but you can't chase them down once you put some damage on them. It can get circled by pretty much anything, and the fact that it has high HP doesn't mean anything when it's so slow it's easier to damage and harder to get away from a threat. i replaced my churchill with 2 cromwells until i could get a croc.

6pdr, was not great in 1944, it proved to be an obsolete gun.

Not vs medium german armor.
The p4 wasn't upgraded much as far as armor is concerned.
Then again, in 1944 it had the 75mm gun not the 6pdr.

So I figure I might as well campaign for an interesting and flavorful tank that just doesn't perform any function right now.
It might be different if we actually played attack/defend, where it could be used to breakthrough fortifications, but nobody ever plays those modes.
Actually, I think I am tired of the Reinforcements modes. I want to try attacking and defending...

No one is forcing you to use it.
It would not like to see this tank perform better against tanks as they are the only really good counter to it.
Maybe increase its splash against infantry if your going to change anything.

Increase accuracy and/or splash, please. It's an infantry support tank that can duel other tanks for a while, make it do its job. Same for PIV IST...

Maybe give the MKIV ONLY the 75mm gun? Then it serves a purpose while leaving the Croc and AVRE untouched.

ATHT is maybe a hardcounter for jeeps but for nothing else^^
since they changed treatbrakers its workless against tanks
leave the church as it is. its heavy, nice against medium tanks and scares the enemy insanely
