make them all t2
pls compare them with ur t1 doc abilities. would u prefer them or the infatry?
then compare t2 with them. would u rather get t2 or ur elite inf instead?
there u go, ofc the elite inf. it should be t2, obviously for reasons beyond your comprehension (like mystalin always says =)

I don't. As somebody else said, they make you feel like you're playing the doctrine right as you choose it. With all of them t2, you have to wait for 10 games (if you win every single one of them with your fresh company) before you can get even think about getting them.

Also, everybody likes doctrine abilities, and this would reduce the number of t2s everybody could take because elite inf is an integral part of the doctrines. In addition, it would also replace a t2, giving us less abilities overall.

Since the feel of playing a doctrine from the start feels good, and is the feel you get with the majority of the doctrines, we should change the minority to the majority instead of the other way around. Give Terror a Gwagen as it's starting unit. Tank Destroyers can have their Hetzer, and this gives them space for a new doctrine ability too. I'm not sure if Scorched Earth having a Hummel from the start would be a balance issue or not. It's the only unit that really fits the feel of Scorched Earth, and I don't imagine it having more impact in a match than Elite Infantry would, but it's counterparts are in t3...

Is Akranadas in this thread? Fucker can't stop bragging about his "waifu taldeer" and cosplaying in an eldar farseer costume while shouting "Flithy monkeighs!" interspaced with random eldar gibberish.

So make them a tier 1, everybody's happy.

But then you have to replace an ability to get them, and you only get 3 of the other t1s then. What's wrong with giving everybody stuff for free? You don't have to wait for 3 games and you don't have to replace other stuff in the doctrine. The only reason that you guys want the elite inf in t1 is because 3 doctrines don't get units so it's unfair.... if all of them did it would be fair and thus no point to put them in t1.

and what makes me feel playing terror? or defensive? or armor?
its the same if i would say: only the KT makes me REALLY feel like playing terror, it should be t2 or t1...
it must be t2, otherwise it would be too uber. even at t1..as i said, compare them with t1 and 2 abilities. u will always chose the elite inf over the abilities

I'm not going to argue with you if the best you can do is "this is a crap argument and doesn't count".

Armor - you wanna get T17s, you got them right there!
Terror? You want KTs etc. later on? go terror. The geschutzwaggen is getting moved there soon as well.
You're not gonna get stukas without defensive.
Only doctrines that don't get anything are Scorched Earth and Tank Busters, but hey, they got some mean-ass T4s!

So it's not a crappy argument, to be honest.

And actualy, I could care less about rangers personaly, I'd rather have my riflemen build sandbags.

I think beyond restricting units to certain doctrines, they should be controlled through cost and availability. Doctrine abilities should give you something other then, 'oh hey you can now buy X unit.'

Just my 2c.

Well the Hetzer being unlocked on doctrine selection is being looked at. And creativity might be required for Scorched earth, of course giving Roadblocks or booby traps for free would be a solution but i don't know how fair. Personally I'd love SE to have access to a 2 or 3 man 2 flamethrower infantry squad but then It would feel like OMG and i don't want that. Not to mention it would pair far too good with IHT's

I don't see why elite infantry can't be a t1 unlock.

Its a huge advantage over the other doctrines, and doctrine abilities being balanced, the ones with the elite infantry will be better.

Even as a t1 unlock this is true, but at least its somewhat mitigated.

I see it the same way. Make it a T1 unlock like in old EIR. I mean i unlock 88s and Officers aswell.

It's not any advantage at all if you give the other doctrines free units as well, which is what I'm trying to say. Why do you want to take 75% of the doctrines and make them less fun to be balanced with the other 25%, whereas you could make the 25% more fun to be balanced with the other 75%?

The need to unlock units trough doctrines means lazyness to create new options hahaha, when you can just put them out of supply, for a quite huge pp price, or you can make them cheaper with some tiers, but still trying to avoid the need to "unlock" it.

Each doctrine should get a "signature unit/ability" when you make that doctrine, whether it be additional Mines or Booby Traps for Terror and SE, or Hetzers or Rangers/AB/t17.

Just something to set each one apart from the get go.

What about Luftwaffe? They pretty much require two, because of the sheer quantity of abilities focused on falls and luft inf.
