You are welcome to go dig out my post where I prove a non-cloaked pak has 1% less DPS than an AP-rounded 57mm(penetration not-withstanding).
DPS is great and all, but with ATG fights, it's the first round that truly counts. If the armour player is paying attention, the vehicle will be gone after the first round has been fired, the second one if you've been caught at medium range.
Any more rounds than one being fired at you more than likely means that your in a situation where your buggered anyhow (Blocked, engine damaged/destroyed, so on). That, or you need to pay more attention.
To round it off... The Kar98 of the Volks WOULD be better than the MG42... If they were in an engagement where they only had chance to fire the first round or two. The MG42 is better because it's put a couple of dozen to your one, and will always been in situations where that is the case.

False.
PaK has better pen vs sherman than 57 vs P4.
PaK always penetrates M10/m18.
PaK nearly almost always penetrates cromwells.
PaK has much better pen against pershing/church then 57mm vs pershing
And on cloak PaK is much better for actually hitting the target, and will always penetrate the majority of allied targets.
The notion that Pak38 is far worse than 57mm is false.

You have to try to pick at me for 1 small mistake which in reality is irrelevent because you can't make real balance arguments. Lol.

but for the most part axis tanks have more armor and hp. so thank god it does more damage

Both ATGs are equally matched against their chosen targets, abilities aside. Axis armor has the armor types and HP to survive hits (in effect negating the extra damage and slower ROF), while allied armor generally doesnt, so that 115 HP knocked off looks pretty naster per shell (and a quicker rof). IMHO theyre both perfectly balanced, although ninja paks that instacloak to avoid their counters are annoying in an intense fight, when you might not have the time to scroll around for that random green cover.

That is the fundamental difference between the pak and the 57mm - the pak will, essentially, always get two shots off while the 57mm will only get one. That one second difference in reload, although it may seem insignificant actually makes all the difference in the engagement. Due to simple physics -
Distance travelled = accel*time^2(from standstill).
