Tiger has more health and can withstand more rounds... So how come the argument that ATG's penetrate Tiger's too often came up, when nothing has been said for the Panther?

The Panther's job is not to push forward while supporting infantry, it's job is to quickly respond to AT threats like Shermans pushing into your lines.

One is a breakthrough tank, the other is heavy AT support.

That, and you dont really expect the panther to take on AT guns in any regard, you kind of expect the tiger to suck it up better... Speed is a good defense.

I used 1 mid game and the other late game, and I had the highest score and most kills.

I forget who I played but it came down to the last 5 minutes.

Alright, I've been using Tigers for the past 10 games WITHOUT the use of Storms and come to this conclusion:

They can pay back their cost in pure resources. Without a doubt, they are capable of shredding their investment in manpower, munitions and resources.

However, there is a glaring problem. To field a Tiger, means to field support. You absolutely CANNOT use a Tiger by itself. This means that while the Tiger costs 16 pop, in actuality, taking in it's support, it's closer to 25 when the pak + mortar/HMG is taken into account.

This means you have a distinct lack of mainline infantry until you hit the late game, making you suffer somewhat.

Can the Tiger pay itself back in resources? With care, yes.

Is the Tiger worth the lack of fieldable infantry? Jury's still out on that. If the Tiger wasn't so inflexible, It'd be a definite yes, it'd be worth the lack of inf. However... As it stands. I dunno.

At the very least, it's definitely requires more input than similar options for the same amount of reward.

That, and it's a big box of failpath that cant reverse worth a damn... doesn't really help it

personally never had a problem reversing the Tiger.  As for operating without support...I'm curious how many tanks you've found that work well without support...

Tetrachs do quite good without support!

M8s do good without support, cromwells can spot & flankspeed away for themselves.

thats not really doing anything, thats just sitting there surviving.   Contributing the battle all alone is different from surviving.

How worried do you feel when you send a m8 to kill a 81mm from behind?

err...obviously anything can kill a mortar if its all alone and unsupported.  Thats really a pretty shitty example.

The Tiger, like most heavies, take a lot of micro management ,thats the main issue.

It doesn't have the speed of the panther, the penetration debuff and health of the king tiger but it hits very very hard and it can take out a ton of infantry in one hit I've seen it take out a full squad who's men were too close, a full 6 man ranger squad, gone, full squad AB, gone, there's no other tank that can take out a full 6 men PLUS in one hit.

That's part of the reason why it dies so fast, it's so dangerous.

I heard that dropping 2 tetrachs on enemy back lines to kill repairing tanks or otherwise units that sit far back contributes quite a lot to the battle.
