The potential of Flame weapons in CoH is not in their damage, it's in their crit tables. Pairing these types of units with infantry or things to damage infantry and where the strength lies. Sure if you called on 3 flammenwerfers you'd probably trash a good many squads as your damage is enough to force squads into a lower crit table. but they you've got 15 pop stuck on dedicated anti infantry.

I like them and i used to have a double call in(and probably will have one when I return) they don't always work but when they do it pays.

The other thing to remember is that their damage is tied to enemy cover values. they do 2X damage when the target is garrisoned or in green cover(if memory serves me right) but they only do .5 to uits in negative cover, and .25 to units in water(i think)

US crocos are fine, mines do their job pretty well; the problem with the wher flammen ht is that it doesn't crit usually (should have been fixed Huh).

the only time ive seen these things make up their cost is when the enemy just doesn't expect them at all and dont have HHAT readily available or light vehicles. but that's rare.
