nugx, it took me a while to find it out myself, but really people just want farms & fields Wink

No just a very loud minority want farms &fields. Mainly the Tank lovers as it gives inf a severe disadvantage. Most of us are bored shitless of farms and fields

meh , bridges without water ?

Its all about flanking, bridges and water limit that. You could make a bridge like that if you can still move thru the dry part so it doesnt limit your movement.

Actually Spartan, most people want farms and fields, as proven by the gameplay records of maps.

You can make two maps, make 1 farms, fields and a small village, the other, same sectors, but make it rocky and with shot blocking and require thought around your manuevers.

The farms will get far more play.

This is why people hate making maps for this mod after the first couple.

You can pull off a forest map too, if you throw some fields in there at least Smiley

Think of St. Winn & Bastion.

People just don't want a lot of heightmapping and shotblocking/obstacles cluttering the map because that just makes gameplay frustrating with COH's retarded AI.

It's wrong to assume that any map with fields and an occasional house is an instant box office hit.

Actually AMPM there is a significant LOUD group, but probably smaller then the people who don't like generic maps.

The problem is that they are the people who will be the only person in the game that only wants Abbeville, will never ready up untill he gets his map no matter what,  and will cancel any countdown.

The reason people would rather play city maps, is because this is a ww2 game and everyone wants to do a Stalingrad

I think you missed the point.

And the second note is that farm maps are easy to do, its the cheap way out. City maps have so much more work that has to be put into them to make sure they don't cause issues.

And also to note, it doesn't help when you get those maps with the terrible sectoring

why not have a mix ?
some sectors farm maps should be in holland could have bridge maps and for Rome Paris and London you should have city maps theres nothin wrong with carentan which is the most know city map imo it requiers a new strategy otherwise unseen
bridges would be cool if they were indestructable and as long as you had plenty of bridges across a river the whole kill zone is limited wot would make them even more balanced is if they where fairly close to your spawn as this would allow you to sit back there and camp but you would still in doing that lose
also bridges make ab and mando coys more usefull they could drop in hold an important bridge and then contribute to the battle more it makes the game more all rounded
Lastly if engineers or basic inf could repair bridges quickly then it would make playing on those maps easier

This looks awesome!

I hope the final map has something like this. I dont mind maps being different. I disliked AMPMs 4v4 map because it was too damn big.
