Engineers and pioneer pool value was significantly increased in an attempt to reduce mine spam. However, the mine field ability available to the munition half track allows SE players to spam mines all over the map. Even with 3 or 4 mine sweepers, it is too difficult to properly counter these mine fields. As a result, infantry are significantly punished whenever they try to advance.

Two problems I see. One, the munition half-track has 300 HP which makes it extremely difficult to kill as it lays its mine field. In contrast, if I see a pioneer or engineer squad trying to build a mine they are toast.

Second, the damage produced by the minefields in comparison to their cost leads it to be a very efficient tool. It seems a bit too powerful considering its place as a T2 unlock.

I'd like a discussion on the issues presented. Whether you feel it should be tweaked and if so in what ways.

Thanks guys,

PQ

Yeah, it's so easy to counter kwiatekkek's mines. Just keep a few minesweepers nearby.

totally agree, taking out 6-8 mines per field is a super easy thing to do...when your opponent is AFK. Otherwise, its quite easy for him to kill any  unit trying to demine the field or at the very least consume a great deal of your focus.

I agree mine sweepers are an effective counter, but they aren't a complete solution. Otherwise, why not reduce the pool value of engineers and pioneers or allow them to further spam mines?

that argument didn't work 4 months ago and I nothing significant has changed to modify that.

Reduce the pool value of engineers and i'll have a reason to spam them with mines! Hell, 35mu for 2 mines is awesome!
Run a stag through the mine field, it wont take any damage, it'll only be slowed.. Heartmann found this out the awesome way.

Because Sat minefiled is a doctrine feature? Costs is 120(?) mu, or 8 WM mines + fuel for HT (if u want to talk about cost\damage). Every US player can spam mines, coz every us engy carry 2 mines, not 1 ike WH pio + u can use m8 to get more. And that is not doctrine ability. What are u talking about? Use mortar to detonate one, and 1\2 of a field will clear up by itself. Seriously guys, stop beating dead horse.

The difference is that regular mines can be places anywhere, a minefield is a minefield. So it's not really spam.

Easiest way to remove minefield = Mortar.

It's also hilarious when you use it to trigger the field when their units are in it.

Already slated for next patch, they'll receive a big penetration/damage debuff while they're deploying the minefield, so people can't lolswtfrush your whole army to instantly deploy 10 mines.

Other than what killer said, yes your gonna need a minesweeper.

Only thing is now they cant lay the field right under your nose. Im not going to get into specifics, but you better make sure you got that area secure before you start laying down the field.

Yeah. Mortar. Totally.

Just hitting one mine can cause a chain reaction that sets of like 3 more mines around it.

mine sweepers get themselves killed with the minefield 90% of the time, but its so easy as said above mortars work well. Or even funnier is when it turns your priest/hummel/howie and 25 pounder into an incendiary barrage because of the randomness of its placement or they just fucked up Tongue

my minefields  are  yes t2  unlock , but  also  im using  t4 which   gives  you extra dmg , and  reduced  build  time.

Compare to a pioneer squad, and you suddenly get a much different concept of how "hard" or not it is.
