Obviously main weapons like Shrecks & BAR's are dropped upon death of the squad, why aren't things like Thompsons, STG44's etc dropped too?

It'd be sweet if flamethrowers could be dropped Cheesy

And there's also grease guns, and assault shotguns, but they're very uncommon.

The reason why SMGs and such can not be dropped is due to their nature of being a squad-wide upgrade where every(or almost every) unit in the squad has one, and thus each death would pose the risk of giving a weapon to the enemy(unlike BARs, LMGs and shreks - who have 2-4 men "cushioning").
This would be amplified by the close-range nature of these weapons which usually infers losses being taken rather often.
It would mean that SMGs would have to receive severe decreases in munitions costs to maintain being viable for purchase as upgrades - while still retaining the tremendous firepower they posess right now - which may be quite hard to balance out.

No, but anti tank rifles, rifle nades and G43 could be made droppable.

Yeah. They are droppable. Ive had a squad of volks with 4 of them at one point. Good times :3
But yeah, would totally be up for every single weapon to have a chance to drop (least, the guns that you gotta pay to have Smiley)

Grens dropping their Kars... Heh, imagine what would happen if you got a squad of Rangers or Airborne with Gren Kar98k's. That would be funny to watch.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Anyone whos ever heard of the CheatMod for vcoh knows that the thompson CAN be spawned and picked up; on the ground it uses the model for the mp44 and that's also the weapon symbol the wielding squad gets. The text reads 'M1 Thompson SMG' and when it's picked up, it's in its correct form (model, skin, firing sound). IMO:

G43s
Flamers (make their weapon slot occupation larger to avoid making KCH deathsquads or bullshit like that)
rare cases of basic rifles (M1, Kar, Lee) dropping; a man dies and drops his rifle. It's better then yours. You pick it up and use it. Ta-daa...
Panzerfausts (squad dies before all of it's uses, enemy picks it up, gets X number of remaining uses; there IS a panzerfaust model and text, along with firing anim, sound, etc, in the JointOps mod on the 'Survival' level; though it acts like a permanent weapon and because it fires on the ability cooldown timer of ~5 seconds, its a fucking OP rapidfire deathmachine in its 100+dmg-100% accurate when perm squad weapon even vs. inf form...)
Mine detectors (the guys that carry them die like flies, and they were issued to regular inf squads anyways...it adds a DPS reduction and is only worth it during mine heavy play, so...cant be OP)
pistols for teh' lolz. Roflmenz get a prize luger, grens get a lolrange webley...fuck, there was a colt .45 for the un-edited 'Command Squad' unit :3 which was an OP fucking monster at close range...rapid fire 1 hit crits...sexy)

Meh. Some of those are only half serious, but idk. Maybe SOMEONE will like the idea..

I want to ensure we have a 100% decision on the process before we do the wipe.
If not, then I wipe, then someone gets something they shouldn't, then it gets abused, then the shit hits the fan and then I ban shab.

There was a bug back in the day in vcoh where you could mortar your own MP44 upgraded stormies (... or what it KCH...) and they'd drop the MP44s... or something like that... I don't remember how it worked exactly but I saw it done.

Still firmly believe G43's should be dropped.
