Paradrop as an upgrade?
«

I had the idea (which could hopefully be adapted to commandos and falls as well) that paradropping could be an upgrade you buy, because I rather use AB support weapons since the men on them are stronger, but I don't want my starting call in for example to drop in, so what I end up doing is grabbing a regular ATG to throw in so they all walk on.
Parachute would be a free upgrade you buy for your potentially air dropped units. You could even make it cost MP, and then make the units themselves cost a little less MP.
Is it possible to do this?

Its very easy to do this.
What I *could* do, is make the upgrade free, but sort of a cancel paradrop/glider option.
... Hmm, I'll see if I can do it in the next launcher update

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.

Yes.
I think Id make it so that if you choose NOT to AB drop them, they are not considered for the airdrop timers modifications.

I think we really need to look at the AB timers timers, I usually have men walking on the field faster than my AB dropping on, kind of completely ruins the point of having them drop in in the first place, doesn't it
. (You shouldn't *need* doctrine abilities that reduce drop-in time just to be able to make paradrop actually worth it)

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

they used, to, back when luft was first put in they all came in from buildings rather than paradropping, was pretty neat, but i guess it made it so bringing them on was completely map dependent in a way.

remember first time i used them. I was like oh man drop in the middle and take the city before anyone else.
Waited...waited they showed up like 4 seconds before the rest of my walk in allies did.

Yeah, before FJs were paradropped they walked from the spawn.

I was thinking something like this. Only problem with it is, You could have them walk in at the start of the game and as the timers start getting longer and longer you will start swapping from walking to being dropped in because the call-in timers are shorter.
Meh, Still be nice to choose though

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.
