What if you could just retreat units (infantry) back to your spawnpoint ? In a seperate game mode for example.

It might have some negative aspects but those can be fixed.

I think it could be pretty awsm for gameplay, more back and forth play.

Well, it sounds like you are asking us to go back in time? :p

For those of you who remember the massive community uprising when retreat was taken out of the game (Good times)

You should have seen some threads at the time, a lot of people thought removing retreat to spawn from the game would effectively kill europe in ruins. Needless to say, almost 2 years later, I think many will agree it was a good decisn decision.

Retreating to spawn really doesn't work well in the persistency design philosophy of the modification. That being said, we'll definitely be looking into expanding the amount of gamemodes, so suggestions and ideas are more than welcome.

I personally think the real issue with 1vs1s in EIR lies elsewhere.

There have already been A LOT of suggestion for game modes but if I remember correctly development had a lot of things to get done before time for new gamemodes arose.

Every time a new decision is made in the mod, an uprising starts and the "end of EiRR" is immanent........ LOL

if i can retreat to spawn, then i won't care if about mg42s.

i think retreating to captain was left in for a short time, even if it was a doctrine ability, i still think it would be hugely OP.

MGs are not supposed to survive in EIR enviroment I was once told. The new vcoh patch MG change of reduced pack up might be nice, you can retreat faster in your example, also dodge arty better, and displace better, all for increased survivability.

Edit: Lower packup and stuff would be nice but I think the packup reductions that VCOh has is too much

We'll probably be implementing those.
As a matter of fact, we already implemented the US mortar pack up time reductions in a previous patch.
