From what I heard so far is that button actually a lot worse than I realized.
It obviously slows the vehicle, but I did not know it prevented it from firing back. Also the LOS disabled was something I hadn't known either.
I'm also not really sure on what side of the argument I should support. Being mostly an Allied player, having a Bren squad allows me to negate at least a small part of an LV rush or Tank rush that otherwise I could not really stop with easily flankable ATGS and Sapper Piats that are the main unit LVs are supposed to counter with their AI guns. Obviously if I had more than one bren squad, I could stop more than Vehicle this way.
Yet I can see why it is broken because it basically
kills the vehicle considering if there is PIATS and ATGs around to let loose on an immobile tank, it's pretty much a goner. With no LOS the tank can't really engage the Infantry it was supposedly supposed (lol?) to take out.
But there comes in the argument with "Why don't you support your tanks with Infantry to stop it?"
Then the counter it "The buttoning enemy will most often have said counter to Infantry with an HMG"
Then it's countered with "Well, use Indirect fire weapons to kill the HMG to allow your Infantry to support your tank"
And the counters keep going back and forth and back and forth and nothing ever get's solved.
But isn't that what we call Tactics? And isn't that part of the game?
Whatever.
Since Unkn0wn said it won't be removed, but taking a rehaul, I think there might be a way to fix this.
1. Just take from OMG and do what they did. Make two seperate Upgrades, Bren without button is cheaper than Bren w/button. Make Bren with Button more expensive.
2. Allow tanks to fire back with less accuracy considering the tanks are being "buttoned" And if you have ever heard the Brits they say "Smash those vision slits! Blind em!"
3. With those two in mind, let the tanks have LOS, but halved of what they can normally see. Since there visions slits are being "smashed"
Yeah, well, that's my "unbiased" opinion and suggestion right there. Not like anyone is gonna read it though
