It doesn't mean I hate her. It just means I think she was an idiot. On an unrelated side note, I did in fact hate her, mostly for endorsing her lifestyle.

And Morka, for the record, one of my very close friends ended up doing drugs, getting addicted, got arrested for possession, issued several death threats to people he thought "ratted him out" (myself included), got out on probation later, stabbed his girlfriend in the hand, and was finally arrested and thrown in prison after being caught giving meth to kids at a playground. I have some idea of such things. Does he deserve my sympathy for it? Not in the slightest. Through the whole ordeal, me, my other friends and his family tried to help him, but he chose his path.

It's the same story now. I'm sure plenty of people wanted to help her, but she didn't want to give up her self-destructive lifestyle. Therefore, she killed herself.

You guys act like Im ignoring the broader point of the children all over the world not just africa.  Im not.  I dont even want to bring it up because thats not the point i was tlaking about at all...I dont get why you guys are bringing in the argument of all the other people in the world that die every fucking day.  Its like you think only YOU know that they are hungry and starved.  

Also I didnt say who to grieve for or when or how, im just commenting on how its sad to have someone who I THOUGHT WAS TALENTED die...

And ampm, I fucking joined the Americorps for one year, so dont talk to me about not helping.  Im not a doctor and I dont think I have the skills needed to help the children of africa, and it sucks, but what can i do?

Can we please not talk about it, senseless arguing is sensless.

It is sad that they died, but it's not sad for them, it's sad for their friends and loved ones. Those are the people to feel bad for.

And yes, anyone can help, distributing food/water does not take a degree.

And no, I wouldn't help people in Africa, but I'm not going to tell people that we need to make huge social changes in order to help Africa either. If you want to be an activist, be an activist, but don't be a fucking armchair activist.

Morka - the death of your friend due to drugs does not grant you the right to silence anybody showing dissatisfaction over the death of someone else due to drugs. Neither does it give you the burden of being an apologist of substance abuse.

Grieving for the people dying in Africa is retarded, because it brings you nothing but depression, while doing nothing to help the people. If you think it's unfair they are dying - go and do something about it, such as donating money, or starting fundraisers. But just sitting there thinking "oh dear, people are dead" is just detrimental to everybody.

She MADE her money, she has the right to do whatever she wants with it, im not disputing whether drugs are right or wrong, im saying its sad to have talent just die on you...

Look at Janis Joplin, Elvis, Jim Morrison, even Heath Ledger.  These people are allowed to do what they want with their money, I wouldn't dispute YOUR right to do drugs if you had money or whatever the fuck you want to do with it.

Myst: Im not asking whos fault it was or trying to blame anyone why even bring that point up?  Like I said alot of times people have deep inate problems that lead them down the wrong road, even if they say its "recreational".  I personally have known 3 different people who have gone that way and they have always had alot of troubles in their life.
