What about a grenade that would stick to a soldier once it touches him ?  Grin

Hand held? You don't. Not if you want a grenade capable of sticking to a target of equal adhesiveness to yourself.

Dip a rifle grenade in axle grease (Or any old adhesive substance that comes to hand) on the other hand...

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

I doubt the technology was available to deploy a rifle grenade with an adhesive on it without the possible danger of it sticking to the barrel of the gun.

You'd only need to get the front half of it in the adhesive due to the nature of how a rifle grenade fires. It doesn't exactly flip like a boss mid-air.

That, would depend on the rifle grenade in question.

Not all rifle grenades were contact detonation.

A sticky rifle grenade would surely be more effective against tanks and vehicles as well.

As I recall the Brits actually had an AT rifle grenade in the war, wouldn't exactly be difficult to implement here.

N* 74 ST was a 4 lb. sticky AT grenade issued to Commando troops post D-Day. It was debatable if it was as effetive as the Gammon bomb grenade, but was accepted (albiet with a bit of ire, many men tied trying to train with the grenade when they stuck it to themselves) by its users.

Being made for AT duty, it would resemble the PE AT grenade (IRL had about half the explosive radius of your average Pineapple grenade) and probably wouldnt do anything to infantry. If it did, it would be like the Recon Tommie shot; gibs one man and possibly hurts another, no more, no less.

In short (ignoring Schmidt), no, bad idea. Would just be a PE AT nade copycat. Worthless vs infantry.
