actualy i have never played vcoh.
once i was guest in my friends house and saw him playing vcoh. i dont liked it. his wife was very angry and said him to turn off pc and go to the kitchen to shave potatos (that was real no jokes) than he said give me 5mins and than he showed EIR:R to me.
thank god and his wife for those 5mins

I watched an old stumpster shoutcast showing how the old website launcher worked and then they showed a game on bastion. Pretty much didnt touch it again for a year and someone on GR posted about OMG. I went there first then learned of EIR from them.
My first game was with Lt.Apollo vs. 2 allied stackers. One was killer who warned me that he had the armor T4 that gave him a shit ton of pop. Lost horribly but I was hooked.
