Since there are very loose definitions for what the sky consists of, I'm going to assume that you're referring to our visible atmosphere. The sky is blue during the day. Here are the layers of the atmosphere:  Depending on what book you read, there may or may not be an ionosphere. I like this picture but I do include the ionosphere between the end of the mesosphere and the end of the exosphere. |
